Yes, don't answer mail or respond when you don't know the person who is sending. Not even when they say they are Microsoft, Apple or your bank. Once you answered some simple questions, they will send more mails for more information. Or they let you click to check your computer. Once you allowed then to "check" you lost control over your own computer. Next thing will be a message you must buy a virus scanner or have to pay $100, to the FBI, because you have done something illegal.

Most mail, from senders I don't know end up in my spam folder, without notice. I only allow mail from people in my contact list.

Be wise put the mail address and the text in the subject in two different spam filters, so you don't need to see them anymore.

My Alcatel one touch keeps telling me that I have entered a slight misspelling of my email address and that they have corrected it for me but I need to re-enter my password. This happens even when I...

suspicious scam action here
Alcatel will not be contacting you about your e-mail address
This is a common ploy that hackers use to get your password so that they can enter viruses and malware into your system
that allows them into your identity and your bank account
If your e-mail address is incorrect you will not be able to send or receive e- mails and it is up to you to contact the service provider for a solution to the problem---not the other way around
Yes the letter looks official but they are very good at that
just check it out first by contacting the service provider direct on the phone on a number listed in the phone book (not the one on the communication) and ask questions there

This is a scam for sure but they keep sending me letters demanding payment. Can they successfully sue me for payment.

They cannot sue you for any thing you did not authorize so don't loose sleep over that aspect of it
as for the rest see if there is any where on the screen in very small print unsubscribe here--if there is click on that and unsubscribe
of course if you contact a government department like scam watch. or a security department that prosecutes scammers when they can get them then forward to e-mail to that department so that it can be actioned
The more reports they get the better the change of pinpointing where the scammers are and catching them in the act

Sony xperia ion lt28at unlock code

You must be wise enough to choose a reliable source to get the unlock code. There are many scam sources online to rip off your money. You can try with your bank for a charge back payment explaining your situation and submit the proofs.
to get the unlock code for your Sony lt28at, I would suggest you to visit www.superunlockcodes.com You can get unlock code at affordable cost with easy unlocking instructions from here. You can get a refund money also if the unlock code is not available for your mobile phone. Good luck.

Most definitely a phish. Don't respond to it but do go to Yahoo's mail site and check your account there. DO NOT CLICK ANY LINKS IN EMAIL! You could end up anywhere. Delete all suspicious mail - do not click on the "unsubcribe" link. You're just telling them your email address is active and they aren't going to unsubscribe you from anything.
