its most likely the flex converter module
its still worth getting fixed these sets have a great picture unless your just ready to replace it

Somehow you have turned on closed captioning in TEXT mode. Navigate the setup menus to find the closed captioning options and turn it off.

That should resolve the problem.

Please check, closed captioned for the hearing impaired settings see if the text mode is set if it is this could block out most of the picture.  Simply turn it off.

sounds like your crt tubes...meaning Red, Green and Blue are out of alignment...or possibly 1 of the crt's is burned out.
