Question about Technics Audio Players & Recorders

What is the rated power @8 ohms for the SA-R210? Thank you!

Really need rated power specs before I make a selection for a set of speakers. This thing used to shake the whole house on a pair of 12's when my bro owned this.

Technics SA-210
This source reckons 25W per channel (there are two of them for stereo)

I don't know how much longer this webpage will be available.

Testimonial: "Correct specs, wrong model. Thank you though. The SA 210 was produced in 1984. The SA-R210 was produced in 1987, and a total pain to research. I found it to be 40 Watts @ 8 ohms stere with 0.09% THD. Www.vintagetechnics.stereomanuals.com This site has decades worth of receivers logged in spreadsheets."

Absolutely correct, Edward. Apologies for my mistake in not reading your question carefully enough - I am frequently asking people to include model numbers with their questions ! Good reference too. 19.April.2015

What is the actual watts per channel @ 8-ohms and 4-ohms on the Behringer PMP3000?

Those specs would be right - I have this same board but the amp was fried by a previous owner. I pulled the amp board out and tossed it and use the mixer now to drive an external amp. Great board. This amp is rated at 1200W "peak", bridged into an 8ohm load. That would equate to about 900W RMS bridged into 8ohm or 450 per side into 4ohm loads per side. You can't daisy chain all 4 speakers....impedance would be too low. You can run two of your 8ohm speakers per side - that results in a 4ohm load per side for the amp. That would give you amp delivery of 450W per side. Your speakers are rated to handle more than that so you're fine. For the record.....you could run one speaker per side no problem....just lower power output.

How to equalize extra speakers?

The only thing you can do to equalize those speakers. Make sure that you have them in faze. + to + and - to - and left to left and right to right. Make sure that your speaker can handle the ohms. (the same ohms) for example If your amp is rated to handle 8 ohms then your speakers should have 8 ohms. The speaker wattage should also be abit more than what your amp can produce. Distortion is your worst killer of speakers.

I have a panasonic SA AK25 with no manual. There are 2 sets of wires coming out of the speakers .how do i hook them up at the back ,thanks

you need a basic meter to ohm out the wires. most speakers ohm out around 8 ohms. some speakers have wires that can hook up to more speakers. others use an external power source to boost the output of the speaker. I would ohm out the wires and find the closest thing to 8 ohms. then with a small 1.5 volt flash light (AA) or (AAA) battery you go across the wires that you think are the load (speaker) if you hear a poping or crackle sound then you have found the wires that are the speaker wires. this would be the wires to hook up to the amp.

Can i add another speaker to it

The specs do NOT show an auxilary speaker jack so the answer to your question is that you cannot add another speaker.

Amp comes on running 2 12" 450 watt pioneer subs, volume only seems to be about half output, with speakers bridged

This could be the reason. If you look at the specs for this amp you will see that the continuous power out is rated for 380W bridged. The speakers rated at 450W should be able to handle close to 315W continuous. Now if you split these numbers being you have bridged these speakers, you drive each one up to about 190W continuous. The speakers are being driven approximately by 60% of the rated capability. I personally like to keep it right where you got it, not exceeding 80% of the speakers rated capacity.

Here are the specs for the AMP:
  • Specifications
  • Peak Music Power 760 Watts
  • Number of Channels 2
  • Load Impedance Capability 2~8 Ohm (Stereo), 4~8 Ohm (Bridged)
  • Continuous Power (4 ohm) 125W x 2
  • Continuous Power (2 ohm) 190W x 2
  • Continuous Power Bridged (4 ohm) 380W x 1
  • Frequency Response 10Hz ~ 50kHz
  • Total Harmonic Distortion 0.008%
  • Signal-to-Noise Ratio 100dB
  • Dimensions 12" x 2-3/8" x 12-3/4"
  • Features
  • Bridgeable
  • Channel # Capability 1/2/3
  • PWM Regulated MOSFET Power Supply
  • Screw-Type Speaker Terminals
  • Balanced Isolator Input Circuit
  • RCA Inputs 2 Channel
  • Input Level Control Hi-Volt (200mV ~ 6.5v)
  • Built-in Crossover Selectable LPF (80Hz, -12dB/Oct.)

Max. wattage for speakers w/ Technics Receiver SA-GX100?

I too have a Technics SA-GX100 and it's rated at 2 x 40W @ 8 Ohms. I have the Technics SB-2840 floor model speakers hooked to it, which are rated at 200W Music Input - 8 ohms. It sounds very nice just to be a 40W receiver.

    4 ohms to 8 ohms

    Hi,

    Offhand, the setup would work.
    • The disadvantage - the full potential of the Alto PBM8 would not be realized (though not a bad thing);
    • The advantage - the Alto PBM8 would not be driven as hard, less heat on the amp output.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
