Question about Phonak ComPilot

2 Answers

My ComPilot paired to my Samsung Galaxy S5 phone with Blutooth keeps putting my phone into driving mode and I can't make calls or do text messages.

Also sends message to my entire contact list that I'm driving and can't answer messsages. This mode won't let me call or send messages either. It goes into driving mode on my desk. Is there a fix for this?

vague and not helpful,i got straight to the point,,DO NOT USE IT,and you will not have problems,if the techs coudnt figure it out, what do you expect from me,I gave you the only answer that worked, apparently your compilot is your baby and you dont want to find something else that works with it besides your phone.

Johnny Rebel, Level 3 Expert ???????

As I said your answer was vague and unhelpful.

You said quit using it. Okay, Quit using what? The Compilot? The Samsung Phone? The Blutooth?

1: Have to use the Compilot as I have a Cochlear Ear Implant in my head and the micro controls are difficult to reach on the processor it self which is where the ComPilot itself takes care of for me with ease.

    2. The Samsung phone I can finally understand what's being said through the Blutooth connection with ComPilot. However the phone thinks the Compilot is a car's blutooth hence the driving mode that pops up on my phone. And THAT'S EVEN WHEN THE PHONE'S CAR MODE APPLICATION IS TURNED OFF.

    3. I'm sticking with the Blutooth no matter what as I also use it with my Phonak S link for my TV.

The problem is with the Samsung programming in the Galaxy S5 phone perceiving the Blutooth as a VEHICLE blutooth signal.. I will be contacting Samsung about this issue so that they can put a patch out on it after they resolve this issue.

  • Anonymous Apr 19, 2015

And I don't need cracks like "the ComPilot is my baby".

  • Anonymous Apr 19, 2015

I suppose you're a Cochlear Ear Implant Expert?

well, anonamous, thank you,,if you think you can do better, then you come on here and answer questions for ppl that dont want answers, they only want to bi tc h,then complain that the only answer that was sensible is not what he wanted to hear, that the only thing that he can use for his medical device is a palmpilot and samsung phone, how about researching what else would work, have you tried a blackberry??,the palmpilot is how old?and you expect it to work flawless;y with a newer samsung phine,

  • Anonymous Apr 19, 2015

Testimonial: "Your answer was vague and not help[ful. I went to Verizon Wireless Store about this issue. After much discussion among the techs they said that the phone's programming thinks the ComPilot's Blutooth pairing thinks it's connected to a vehicle's blutooth. They tried a "fix" by unchecking something in the car mode function but left the blutooth on which made things worse by permanently staying in driving mode rendering my phone useless for calling and texting. I had a hard time resetting BOTH the Compilot and the phone by removing and reinstalling and re- pairing of both devices to get it working somewhat working again. Now, about every other hour i have to manually turn the phone's driving mode off by touching the I'm not driving button. Everytime I adjust something on the Compilot it turns the driving mode back on on the phone."

Most likely this is not problem of the phone but Compilot's software. The phone itself just doing what it's been ordered since you gave permission to Compilot's application to do whatever it wants with your phone. Try to disconnect and uninstall the Compilot app.
And you should request update from Compilot's guys.
