Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your Dyson canister's cleaner head working intermittently. We're keen to take some further details, as to help resolve this we would need to know exactly which Dyson canister you own.

If you can call us when you have your machine easily to hand, our experts will be happy to talk you through some simple troubleshooting check to determine which part is causing the issue. You can reach us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

We'll look forward to speaking with you. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we can also confirm if your machine is still within the Dyson guarantee period.

HI there Vacuum Guru here from VacuumSpot.com.au. Most alto clarke share the same parts as a Nilfisk Alto. We are an agent for these machines. If you use the email link on our site and let us know which model you have we should be able to get you any parts you need.

Black part connecting the drop down foot i do not know how to put it back in please help!! thanks

Hi,

Try this quick repair and see if this fixes your Dyson in terms of not going in the upright position: This is a frequent problem that we see come in on Dysons. If this doesn't fix it, please feel free to just use the clarification request and let me know this didn't fix it.

Step 1.
Turn power off and unplug the machine.
Tilt the machine backward to a 45° angle.

Step 2.
  • Hold the section under the airway inspection pipe.
  • The black forward lock button must be held down simultaneously, otherwise the valve carriage will not move.
  • Pivot this section upwards until it clicks into place.
  • Release the black button once the valve pipe carriage is moved up into place.

    Step 3.

    • Tilt the machine forward.
    • The cleaner head should now slide underneath the part you have just clicked into place.
    • The machine should now stand upright.

I have a dirt devil featherlite carpet shampooer. It has been a great one for about five years without any problems. I need to know if anyone knows where I can find the replacement filters?

    Hi There,

We actually do carry the foam filter for your Dirt Devil Featherlite (also manufactured as the Easy Steamer) carpet cleaner.

According to the Dirt Devil parts diagram for the CE6000, your machine takes the following foam filter. Here's a direct link to the filter on our website:
Dirt Devil Featherlite, Easy Steamer Foam Filter Part# 1-700750-600

Here's a link for the parts diagram for your Dirt Devil Featherlite CE6000 carpet cleaner. This will give you all of the part numbers, and drawings for each part on your machine should need any further parts:
    http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/vacuumcleanerbacgs/dirt-devil-easy-steamer-featherlite-ce6000-parts-diagram.pdf

I hope this helped. If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to use the comment field here on the repair page to contact me, I'm always happy to answer any follow up questions.

If you found this repair helpful, please be so kind and rate the repair helpful and / or leave feedback for me. Thanks so much!

Can't open my EPC 6500 Electrolux

What you do is open the bag cover, then lay the machine on its side. Wedge a flathead screwdriver in between the bumper and the rear plastic guide. With a mallet, strike the flathead towards the bag cover. (The front of the machine.) Until the guildes come off. After both sides are done, close the bag cover and roll the machine so it rests on its back. With 2 fingers inside of the opening where the cord comes out, pull up firmly with the other hand holding the machine in place. TA-DAH.

I wouldn't bypass the bag sensor if I were you. It's there for a reason. It sounds like your control valve is out. Change that and your problems are over. Quick and super simple fix.
