Proper pump sizing, depends on the amount of water flow required to meet the turnover rate of your area, most areas have a code requirement of a turnover to be completed within eight hours.
once you know that, and you know the amount of water flow that your filter can except, that will be in gallons per minute, and you have a general idea of what your total dynamic head is for the restriction of waterflow due to the plumbing in your system, you then will find a pump that will provide a statistical information sheet on what the pump curve is. That will give you the information you need... What that pump can produce in GPM'S. This eliminates over sizing of a pump, which shortens the life of filters, even pumps, and can actually save you lots of money in the long run.

Hi Windy,
You need to go to www.pool-motors.com
Get a V-Green 165 (or modal for your size pool)by Century A Regal Brand. is approved by all electric companies as Green, and my company gave me a $200.00 REBATE so I only paid about $160.00 for mine.
This variable speed pump has saved me over $175.00 a month on my electric bill. Very Quite. Easy to program settings you want.
Affordable, I looked.

Hope this helps Mike

Pump is leaking. It is a Montomery Ward 700 model 24141 single stage convertible jet pump LJS/2A7

Montgomery Ward sold pumps under their name, but they didn't manufacture the,. They originally where manufactured by Peabody Barnes, which was later purchased by Ward Pumps. With all of this said, the model you have was discontinued some years ago, which will make finding replacement parts difficult at best. However, a local plumber or well driller in your area may be able to help you.

that will not be so easy. i used to own a bicyle shop and bicycle pump manufacturers are worse than the mafia. they CONSTANTLY (and by "they" i mean most all of them)discontinue models, discontinue parts,or they dont make parts in the first place. Its pretty annoying. your best bet is to call a bicycle shop or two and then buy your pumps from walmart in the future. sorry i don't have more encouraging info for you but i hope it helps:)
