Do as the other tip says but the info you need is on a sticker, unfortunately its on the back of the machine. While you are online see if you can rustle up a free download handbook. Start with the manufacturers website unless its more than 4-5 years old then seek elsewhere. A good local appliance shop might help.

Since you did not specify the make or model of your unit, it will be hard to provide proper information. Recommend performing Google search your manufacturer make, model and the word manual. If one is available, it will show up in the search results and you can download it from there.

Some of these units have a kinda clip on the bottom If its been a while since its been serviced it may take a little kick to get it off. You shuld be ablt ot pull it down a bit and then pull out from the bottom. Or perhaps a but of hat water along hte edges will help .. Clean it carefully and don't get any electrical wet . Jon

I am having trouble taking out the bottom pan to clean the filter. Please let me know how to remove the bottom pan. Thanks

I am not sure what you mean by the bottom pan. Are you trying to clean inside the drawer or the inside of the outer housing?

If you want to remove the filter plate at the base of the drawer then refer to page 21 of the user manual. (DD602 is similar to DD603).

Bottom draw want wash this machine has been in storage

F2 indicates motor problem.

I hope you have the user manual.

If not get it from

http://dl.owneriq.net/9/95870094-43e8-493a-96bc-7f786df76d53.pdf

Go to page 21 (cleaning filter plate).

There must be something (a seed or piece of bone) stuck in the rotor chamber. Take the rotor out (impeller) and clean the chamber. Also under there is a small channel between the drain sump and the rotor chamber. Use a stiff thin wire and clean it.

Hopefully the rotor is intact. Replace everything and you should be all right.

Post me a message if the rotor assembly appears cracked. Then you need a new one.

How do you clean the filter

Of all the problems you might encounter while using your dishwashermag-glass_10x10.gif, a clogged filter is one of the easiest to fix. The filter can get clogged with food or detergent, which can block the water from flowing correctly through the spray arms. Although you should check your user's manual for directions more specific to your dishwasher's filter, there are some simple things you can do to make sure that your filter is squeaky clean.
  1. Step 1 Disconnect the dishwasher from its power source. This may require unplugging the dishwasher or flipping the appropriate switch on the circuit breakermag-glass_10x10.gif.
  2. Step 2 Remove the bottom rack from your dishwasher.
  3. Step 3 Remove the filter cover, which should be located on the bottom surface of your dishwasher.
  4. Step 4 Use your hand to remove the worst of the debris. If necessary, wash the filter with soap to remove the heavier grime.
  5. Step 5 Replace the filter and the lower rack of the dishwasher.
You can also use a wet vacuum to clean the filter.Make sure to replace the filter after cleaning. If it is not replaced, the grime that usually gets stuck in the filter will end up on your dishes

Fisher and paykel washing macine does not rinse properly and beeps and stops ar this point

I presume you mean dishwasher does not rinse properly.

I am hoping you do clean the filter at the bottom now and then. If this problem is with both the drawer then I can't think of much based on the details you have provided.

Check the user guide on instructions to clean the filter if not done.

Fisher & Paykel dishwasher model dd602 error code F4

Hi there,
It means your filter is dirty. Remove metal plate at bottom & scrub with a toothbrush. Clean arms as well.
Clean all around the door & pull out the lift out filter, scrub clean with a toothbrush.

Dishes not getting clean, left with gritty residue. Could the filter be backed; if so how do I fix it?

Had the same problem with a GE Nautilus 3400 series.
Solution:

- In their manual, GE recommends not stacking tall dishes on the bottom right tray - this prevents the dishwashing powder from fully dissolving. Are you using the right detergent and rinse-agent ?

If your upper arm is not turning during wash (DW leaves residue on top-shelf items), do the following:

1) Empty the DW.

2) Pull down the rotating arm on the DW ceiling. Thoroughly clean the passageways (I had to tap it on the counter to break-down the sediments).

3) Inspect the mesh-screen filter located on the floor in the back - if it's backed up (ours was backed-up from the inside), you'll need to clean it by removing 4, 1/4" screws holding it to the DW floor and throughly cleaning it (I also unscrewed the plastic valve located on the bottom of the filter compartment). While you're at it, remove the plastic mesh on the DW floor (2 screws) and fish for any objects and sediments blocking the pump.

4) Replace filter and bottom mesh and operate the DW in "Rinse" mode.

5) Press the rotating arm back in and operate the DW in "Rinse" mode. Check rotation.

- Good Luck !

Dirty dishes

You need to take the spray arm off of the bottom and get down to the filter: there's probably food trapped in the filter somewhere, not able to drain out and it keeps recycling onto the dishes at each cycle. Good luck!

Dishes don't come clean. Water spots on stainless and film on glass. Tried powder & liquid detergent and max. amt. of water softener. Increased water temp. as recommended in manual. Any suggestions?

cut back on the amount of soap and make sure you are not overloading bottom rack remember water has to get up through lower rack to do its job correctly
