Question about HP Computers & Internet
Does your phone use the Wifi antenna from your laptop? or the receiver? or the software? When your laptop indicates it has a problem with the Wifi connection, it has. What is causing this should be looked after in the laptop, like did you setup the connection correct? Is the setting still correct? or did something change the settings or even reset the settings?
Just check everything about the wireless connection in the laptop to see if you can get it working again. If it was never working before, just setup the connection.

In your operating system go to control panel and follow the prompts of the network setup wizard ( select wireless setup) and follow the steps of the wizard. But you better have a wireless network type card in your laptop.. Usually there is a little switch on the unit soemwhere that displays an orange or blue light that is the network card.

After making sure that the status of network adapters in the device manager showed enabled, I tried using the Fn+F5 key on my keypad. The Fn+F5 key showed my WiFi status as disabled inspite of the Wifi toggle switch on the front of the laptop in the "on" position. So I enabled it and the WiFi led started glowing and I was able to access the internet through WiFi connection
