Try adjusting the needle downwards towards the bobbin. If it was working correctly before , the needle may have come loose, and is causing your problem. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

My Ruby Viking will not pick up bobbin thread

Install a brand new needle. A bent/damaged needle sometimes will not pick up the bobbin thread.

Verify the machine is threaded correctly.

If it still will not pick up the bobbin thread, most likely it is a needle/hook timing issues. There are many web sites and videos online explaining sewing machine timing. Or take it for service.

When thread cotton. Cotton don't pick up bobbin cotton please help bernette65

Be sure to use a brand new needle. A bent/damaged needle may have difficulty picking up the bobbin thread.

Verify that both upper and bobbin threads are threaded correctly. If so, and it still fails to pick up the bobbin thread, most likely there is needle/hook timing issue. Take it for service.

Why doesn't needle thread pick up bobbin thread?

1. Make sure the bobbin has about two inches of thread away from the bobbin. Also, make sure the bobbin has been adjusted properly for tension.
2. While turning the hand wheel keep the needle thread pulled towards the back. The bobbin thread should come up above the throat plate.
NOW, IF THIS DIDN'T WORK: Take the machine to a repairman to be timed. This is when the bobbin hook (sharp thing around bobbin) picks up the needle thread. It has got to be at exactly the right time when the needle is going back upward.

Needle goes down but don't pick up the bobbin thread. It come up and tell me that my upper or lower thread is cut.

try changing the needle
try rethreading the machine top and bobbin
make sure to use every thread guide-this is improtant for the
thread tension
make sure the bobbin is turned correctly in the bobbin case
also could be a problem with the computer motherboard
or there could be a problem with the timing

My bobbin thread will not thread. When I bring the needle down, it comes up without the bobbin thread. The mechanism moves, but no thread. How do I fix this problem?

check the bobbin to make sure it's not warped
check the needle to make sure it's not bent-roll on flat surface to see if it roll correctly
make sure the bobbin is in the bobbin case correctly
make sure you have a 3 to 4 inch tail on the bobbin-so the upper thread can pick it up easily
make sure you have a 3 to 4 inch tail on upper thread also as it picks up the lower thread
or you can hold the upper thread with your hand to the side of the machine & use the handwheel to lower the needle as it picks up the lower thread
pull both threads to the back behind the needle
make sure there is no lint or loose threads in the bobbin area

Bobbin thread won't "pick up" right

Check that you have the needle inserted properly i.e if the needle shank has a flat side make sure you have it inserted per your instruction book ... also make sure the needle is inserted all the way. Also double check that you are using the correct needle type.
