Tip

How to use the Prt Scr (Print Screen) button.

On every computer keyboard there is a <b>Print Screen</b> button. The basic functionality of this key is to capture the snap-shot/screen-shot of the current screen you are viewing on your monitor and save it as an image file. Once you click this button the screen image is captured and stored in the computer's memory (clipboard). Then you can use the <b>Ctrl + V</b> buttons together to paste it into any image processing software such as <b>Microsoft Paint, Adobe Photoshop or any other Office applications such as Word, Excel or Powerpoint.</b> Once you paste it into any of these applications you can save it and then use the image later for any purpose. <br /><br /><b><u>Here are the steps to use the print screen feature.</u></b><br />1) When you have the part you want captured from your monitor exactly as it looks, look for the <b>Prt Scr</b> or <b>Print Screen</b> button on your keyboard and press it once.<br />2) Now navigate to Microsoft Paint: <b>Start&gt;All Programs&gt;Accessories&gt;Paint</b><br />3) Once Paint is open simply press the <b>Ctrl + V</b> keys in combination to paste the screen shot, or you can go <b>Edit&gt;</b>Paste to do the same.<br />4) You can now, resize it, modify it if required and save it under any name you want for later retrieval.<br /><br /><br /><b>NOTE:</b> If you have opened more than one windows in the screen and you want to capture the snap shot of just the active window and not the entire screen, then press the <b>Alt</b> key while pressing the <b>Prt Scr</b> button. This will capture the image of the active window only<br />Now that you have mastered the art of print screen you can use this to capture error messages in applications for you to use when in need of tech support.

Prints one or to pages then stops. Have to reset computer to get it to work. No test doesn't work. It is like it runs out of memory.

Try to run a test for continuous print test page in diagnostics mode. To enter the Diagnostics mode:
1. Turn off the printer.
2. Open the front access door.
3. Turn on the printer while pressing and holding Cancel .
4. Close the front access door once the Error light displays. Print the menu page by pressing and holding Continue until all of the lights flash. Follow the instructions on
the menu page to access the menu items.

Continuously print pages containing cross lines, printer information, and margin settings. Press and hold until the Continue button lights flash to begin. Press Cancel to stop.

Make sure he selects the "Cont Prt Simplex Tray 1" option

If problem persists, contact Lexmark at 1-800-LEXMARK()1-800-539-6275.

I have a HP laptop I like to printscrren couple of page How can I do it please !

On a laptop, the print screen button is designated by "prt sc" or "prt scn" -- look for a button in the upper right portion of your keyboard. You will need to press and hold the the Function (usually "fn") key then tap (press and release) the button with the designation for print screen on it. This takes a "snapshot" of whatever is on your entire screen and temporarily saves it to the clipboard (like a "copy" does when you copy and paste something). If you wish to just capture the active window, hold the Function key, hold the alt key, then tap the print screen key. This only works on some laptops, not all. The easiest way to get to the picture you just created is to open the program Paint. Once open, press and hold ctrl (control) and tap "v" - this will paste the snapshot of the screen or window. You can crop, circle things, etc in Paint, then save the file or print it.

How to take a screenshot when the prt scrn button isnt doing ****

The print screen button doesn't to it on it's own. You press it when what you want is on the screen, then open a photo program and paste the 'captured' image in. hold ctrl tap the v key, then let go of both keys.
it should then show you your screenshot. you can then save it or print it

My HP Pavillion DV6000 will not print screen (Screen Capture)

Why don't you just highlight what you want to print, place the curser over that and right click choosing copy. Go to the email that you are sending, put the curser where you want it, and right click again choosing paste. Works every time.
