When a factory reset does not bring it back, you could think the tablet is defect. Tablets, although modern equipment, can become defect to. But still try a reset and a reinstall of the software, before you goto a shop for repair (or to buy a new one)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My kindle fire is charged, but it just stopped working.Do these units just die after a few years?

My Kindle Fire has been working for many years.

Try rebooting by holding down the power button, ignoring the "Shut down" prompt until it turns off. Then press and hold the power button until it starts to reboot. Does it?
