Question about Grilling
This could simply be a matter of you turning the gas tank on too fast. The hose/regulator that connects to the tank has an excess flow valve built into it. Close the tank valve and disconnect the hose/regulator from the tank, then reconnect it. Now slowly turn the handle on the LP tank. See if that solves your problem.

Blue flame? if flame is not blue, then air gap needs adjusting. if blue flame and burner control is on high, then could be your regulator. (assuming tank if full)
