Https://archive.org/details/Singer_518k_538k_servicing_instructions has the service manual. There is quite a clear diagram of the inside with the top removed on page 10 showing two springs in position. Hopefully your needle position spring is one of these.

SOURCE: I have a new Singer 1507 sewing machine- needle position wrong

Turn the big knob on the right of your Singer 1507 machine so that the vertical stitch line in the center. (Currently your machine most likely has the vertical stitch line to the left.) Don't push your needle manually; you will damage the needle.

SOURCE: singer featherweight model 324 - the needle position is in the left position and I don't know how to centre it - or is it supposed to sew in the left position

i looked up the manual and didn't see anything about needle position. Here's a copy so you can read at your leisure.

SOURCE: Singer 7258 will not sew automatic buttonholes. The needle goes up and down, but that's all. The buttonhole lever is down, so that's not it. Please help.

if the sewing machine is set on the buttonhole setting then it's
possible that the sewing machine motherboard has a problem.
or a part could be damaged, the machine may need some type
of adjustment.

My machine won't pick up the thread at the thread take-up? What should I do? It is also making a loud sound.

The loud sound suggests that the moving needle and the moving parts of the bobbin system are no longer timed properly>

If this is the case you cannot fix it yourself and I can"t tell you how to do it

A qualified technician can do it>

Sorry I cannot be more help but my layman knowledge does not cover that!!!!!!

Singer touch and sew 648

Thread the machine as if you were going to sew. When you thread the needle, pull the thread off to the left and wrap it around the thumb screw on the left and just above the needle. Wrap it only 2 or 3 times and hold the end of the thread. With bobbin in place and the face plate slid open, push the thumb lever on the left under the face plate to the left. Begin to 'sew'. As you do, the bobbin will wind and the thread you are holding will detach. Once the bobbin is full to the outside line, slide the face plate the closed position. As it closes, it will release the thumb lever. Put the needle in the slightly lowered position and slide something blunt under the pressure foot pulling thread from both the bobbin and the needle; cut the thread when you've pulled it out sufficiently.

Your problem is a simple one.Jamming is due to thread getting trapped on the bobbin holder. All you need to do is to unscrew two screws holding the the bobbin holder clean the same and reasseble it.your problem will be solved.N.Govindarajan
