Pull the fuel bowl off if it has one and clean it real good and clean the fuel jet. May not be enough gas to keep it going a longer time.

SOURCE: I have a Brigs&Straton 6.5 Quantum lawnmower will not stay running. I can keep it running by restricting the amount of air entering the carb with my finger (choking it) The mower will start if it

the problem is in your carb.,at the bottem of the carb. there is a bolt that threads in to the carb.pinch off the fuel line so that no fuel comes out after the fuel bowl is off the mower.now look into the bolt that you took off.there should be a hole oppisit the head of the bolt.there are also two holes that go through the sides.these holes are the fuel intake to the carb, the hole in the center is the fuel nozzle.most likely you have dirt blocking this hole and not letting the motor get enough fuel to run.thake some carb cleaner and spray it in the hole.take an air hose then blow the nozzle out.while you have the screw out take the bowl off and check to see if there is any water or dirt in the bowl.after cleaning.reinstall the bowl and start mower again.should be running ok now.if not let me know and i'll guide you through another fix.let me know if this helped or not................

SOURCE: Honda 160cc mower engine starts and dies.

Your carbeurator is crudded up. Get a can of aerosol carbeurator cleaner at any auto parts store. Remove the air filter and spray two squirts of cleaner into the air intake. Start the engine and keep it running by squirting more carb. cleaner into the air intake. WIth a little patience you will clean your carb. and solve your problem.

SOURCE: my troy built lawn mower dies after it starts runs

Your high speed needle jet is most likely the cause. Remove the jet and clean it out. Keep in mind that there may be least one or two very small holes drilled in to the sides of the high spped jet, if so, be sure they are cleaned and not clooged.

Why does it die after running 10 minutes?

Could be 'Vapour lock' when it dies, try opening the fuel tank and see if it starts back up.! If it starts and runs fine then I would put the cause down to a faulty tank vent, which isn't allowing air back into the tank to compensate for the fuel being drawn out meaning the saw is struggling to draw fuel out the tank as its in a vacuum.

Run for 15 min then dies. It was low on oil. Added oil over the full line now it runs for 3 min running rough and then dies To much oil now?

Your mower dying would have no correlation with how much oil you have in the engine. Didn't I answer this question for you yesterday?

Your problem is fuel related. Fuel goes off, so it should be fresh from the gas station every season. Check lines for kinks. Check lines for air locks. Check your fuel filter if you have one. Check that the fuel tap works properly.

I don;t know what engine is on your mower but if it has the self contained electronic ignition coil I have seen happen on several engines. It would run good for several min. then the spark just stops . And it will not spark again until it sets and cools . Just make sure it is the ignition that is not working.

Hello. Your carburator is partially clogged up. That said, if you havn't installed a new fuel filter and new air filter this year do so. Also put in a new plug if u havn't lately. Finally get a bottle of a fuel additive called seafoam and pour it into the fuel following the directions on the bottle. J.
