Need a remote code for a magnavox blue ray model # nb500mgx

The slot is for playing many, but not all SD cards. What movies do you think it should "read"

Test your remote by looking at its signal with a mobile phone camera. The remote may need cleaning/ fixing.. batteries changing?

If you store movies on a SD memory card you can insert the SD memory card into this player to view the movie. You may have taken a video of your children on a video camera which stored the video on the SD memory card.

According to a Cnet reviews, it does not do Netflix streaming.

If no playback most likely a dirty or failed optical pickup used for this.

From what I can tell this player does not support BD live. It is not mentioned on the product page on Magnavox's website.

The Magnavox NB500MGX does not support DVD + R only DVD-R or DVD-RW.

Hi there! In order to be able to provide the definite codes that will allow you to program your remote to your Magnavox Blue Ray DVD player, I would need the type of remote that you have- this can be found on the back of your remote, it would be displayed as something along the lines of 3.0, 4.0, 5.0, etc. To obtain a few codes that will likely allow you to successfully program the remote I used 5.0 because it is a common remote that is used with quite a few of our DISH Network receivers. The codes you can try for your DVD player would be, 829 (most successful) if not then please try the following, 685, 533, 554, or 556. After trying those codes if your attempts are still unsuccessful you can also check the manual that came with the DVD player from the manufacturer or just contact us here at DISH Network - although I do know sometimes the remote codes can be located in the manual. Hope the codes help & work for you!

Yes, Magnavox players are made by Funai.
Follow the directions exactly. Use the update for the EXACT same model number. Do not turn off the power or play with the remote while the unit is updating.
