The power frequency (HZ) is less important , but the voltage is very important , voltage rating on tool has to match the voltage on your power outlet , or tool will quickly burn up .

What is voltage of Ace touch dimmer

Hi Roger -

I just answered a related question of yours here. I see in this question that you are located in the UK. Household electrical devices in the US and Canada are 120V / 240V - 60Hz types. Larger appliances such as stoves, clothes dryers, electric heating and air conditioning equipment run on 240V - 60Hz. Small kitchen appliances like toaster, dishwashers, microwave ovens and common home appliances like radios, lamps, TVs, small space heaters, etc. all are 120V - 60Hz.

If the UK 230V devices operate on 50Hz (as I suspect they are), this can cause problems for many electronics, motor operated and devices that have transformers designed for 60Hz systems. Standard toggle switches wouldn't be a problem (provided you slect types rated greater than 230 V), but electronic types - like dimmers - could suffer from overheating issues.

Whatever you choose should be rated for the same (or greater) value of voltage, wattage or amperage and the identical frequency in hertz.

To your question: No, it is not likely that the Ace touch dimmer sold in the U.S. is rated for 240 volts - unless it is specifically identified for use at a voltage equal to or higher than what you want to use it on.

I hope this helps & good luck!

What do I need to use the battery charger outside the USA. I'm going to Amsterdam, Brussels & Paris. Thank You, Brian Duffy

Brian:

Luckily, with camera power supplies, as long as they say that they are for 120v - 240v and 50Hz - 60Hz then all you need is one of those collections of international plug adapters that you can buy from any electronics store.

Check the label on the power supply and it should list the supported input voltages and hertz.

Then just take the appropriate plug adapter (it's sometimes different in each country that you go to) from your kit of adapters and charge your camera as usual.

Have fun in Europe!

What power supply is needed for hp scanjet 2400

It is depends on your scanner power adapter and where u purchase the scanner from. Here if your scanner is from US then the adapter power input should be 100-120V 60Hz AC, if your scanner is from Euro, UK or Australia, the it should be 200-240V 50Hz AC, while if your scanner is from others place that not listed above then it should be 100-240V 50-60Hz AC.
But the best way is look at your adapter itself, u'll notice the power input and output from the adapter sticker.

If you lost your adapter then be sure to purchase 1 that can output a 12 VDC, 340mA, 4.22W adapter to the scanner.

US portastudio 2488: Can it play when connected with a transformer

The 2488mkII manual specifies that the unit can operate with either 120VAC, 60Hz (USA/Canada), 230VAC, 50Hz (U.K./Europe), 240VAC, 50Hz (Australia) so you should be fine with a transformer which can accomodate 230VAC, 50Hz).

I have actually conversed with people who have been using the 2488 in France without any power problems.

Cheers,

Samsung hcm5525w rear projection tv

Extensive analysis revealed this unit to be for 120V 60Hz regions. If you use it in a region where the mains supply is 220/240V 50Hz then it won't work. In addition, the PSU will overheat, with possible damage to other modules.
One possible solution is a 120V 60Hz inverter, else Samsung may be able to provide the correct PSU for 220/240V.

Compatability with US 240v 60HZ 1phase wiring?

It should work OK The US system is 240V single phase (split) into two 120v branches. Aussi system is hot on both sides, with a center ground (a virtual ground system) Connect the 2 main wires (usually brown and blue) to the 240 (black and red), and connect the grounds (Green/yellow to green), and leave the neutral wire off.
