7 pin or 15 pin foot pedal

Does the Lanier VW 210 use a 15 pin or 7 pin connecter for the foot pedal? Where the foot pedal plugs in has a 7 pin connection, then a space and then an 8 pin connection. I bought this used and it has no instruction manual and I haven't had any luck researching it on the internet.

How do I erase the tapes on a Lanier VW-210

Press the telephone button first with one finger and immediately after you press that button press the rewind button, The unit should go into rewind and erase should be flashing on the digital display. When the unit starts rewinding take your finger off of both buttons, if you keep them on ,then the unit will rewind and stop erasing .

I need a foot pedal to go with a Lanier P-145 dictation system.

I believe that takes a 5 pin pedal, LX1017. If the connecter has 7 pins, then use the lx0557.

I have a Lanier Transcriber Model V W-210. Today the fast forward and the reverse did not work. I could hear a motor sound, but the tape did not advance or reverse. The "listen" worked, as did...

This unit most likely has a broken rewind/fast forward rubber belt. This is a very common problem and is easily fixed if you can acquire a new belt. Any place that services Lanier equipment should be able to easily fix this problem.

Lanier VW 210 transcriber beeps like it is at the end of the tape

There is a sensor that detects tape movement. Unfortunately they do go bad and will probably need to be replaced.

Lanier vw-210 dictaphone

It is not a problem at all! The VW-210 & 260 was designed to utilize a two-step erase procedure to prevent accidential erasing of tapes.
1.) Press & HOLD down the TEL button
2.) Immediately press & HOLD down Rewind button UNTIL erase function starts then quickly release both buttons.

Lanier Transcriber unit will not play

Most likley it is a bad motor or a broken belt. There is a seperate motor or FF and Rewind.. If the motor is bad it is likly that the motor control circuit board is bad also (motor shorts and takes out the board also). If there is no "click" when play is selected it could be the play solenoid is dirty and not engaging. I have repaired thousand of these units through the years and in spite of these issues they were a great sounding unit.

BTW this is true for the VW-210, VW-260, p-139 and simular units.
