I finally installed the scanner protion of my HP officejet 6310 all-in-one printer and it worked great for 1 day then the scan program disapeared and I can only scan from the "paint" program, so I can't save as pdf documents or multiple pages. I thought the problem was due to an incompatiblity with IE 8 which I uninstalled and am now using the older version of Internet Explorer. This didn't help. I've tried multiple times to uninstall the Office Jet Software/driver but for some reason the program will not uninstall so I can't even try to re-install it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Downlaod revo uninstaller from this likn then install in computer.
Then open it and uninstall all hp application it also dleete registery settings of it.

Then again install all application and driver for it.

I suggest that you run the scan from a computer and not from the printer, it works tons better. Each computer needs to have the install program run on it, NOT PLUG AND PLAY. Plug and play will make most stuff work, but not everything.
Further, HP printers are fussy about exactly when to connect the printer, get the correct install program for your printer and OS from HP.com, and install following the directions exactly.
Scanning is the one function that never works with plug and play.

Can't scan- Refer to device documentation to
Try using widows paint. Look in windows accessories off the start program menu. If you open windows paint, look for open file from "Scanner or Camera". Most likely you can get the scanner to work again in Vista. Otherwise...try Vuescan scanner software. I think you can get a free trial period online and it should also work. You'll have to pay for that if you like it.

2. Uninstall the existing driver from program and features under control panel.

* To search for progam and features, Click on start or the windows vista logo on left bottom, click on control panel, clck on program and features and then unistall the printer driver.

3. Power off the printer and unplug it from computer.

4. Install the printer from the saved drivers and plug it when asked.

Restart computer once the installation is compete and hope the scan would work after this.

Hello, my HP 6310 all in one printer prints fine BUT it does not let me scan items. I am using a HP Pavilion and running Windows Vista. can you please hlep me out?
These are the easiest steps for scanning in vista with out using HP software.

1. Click the Start (Windows) icon.
2. Click All Programs.
3. Click Windows Photo Gallery.
4. Click File and then click Import From Scanner or Camera.
5. Click Import.
6. Click Scan
