All of a sudden I am unable to open certain sites.

Some hotels install a webfilter, to stop people looking at dodgy sites or using all there bandwidth on downloading music or movies.

If this is not looked after by a good admin then you will find that it will block site which should not be. best to call there support and see if they can sort it.

Need to disable the access of the address bar in IE

You can use frames to keep your URL fixed while still allowing navigation without revealing the actual URL.
Alternatively, As your real intention is to prevent users from modifying the URL, consider implementing URL rewriting to scramble the URL so that the actual file path is not obvious. URL rewriting is the process of intercepting an incoming Web request and automatically redirecting it to a different URL.

Unable to connect to some sights

Absolutely it can be the problem. Conficker worm has started the payload.

This is my working cure for Conficker infections.

1) To start working, first you need to download the required patches + fix tool:

Windows 2000:

Windows 2003:

Windows XP:

Windows Vista SP0 + SP1:

Symantec FixDownadupTool:

2) Create a shared folder on some server to contain the downloaded files (Apply Read-only permission for all users).

3) And you can use Psexec ( to import a text file that contains the infected machines and run it using a privileged account like a Windows domain admin.

4) In the batch file, you should replace the server name and shared folder name.

so, for example (run this as domain administrator):

c:\psexec @infected.txt -d -c Clean-Downadup.bat

infected.txt should contains one name/ip per line, like:

Use netscan to ping a range of IP's and save the results as a text file (

Another important points:

1) Review the current Passwords policy, you can configure a Windows GPO that will require a complex password, with a minimum number of characters.

2) Use Nessus (, and scan all machines using this plugin ID (34476) to check if they have MS08-067 patch installed or not. (BTW, you can use a different tool to check for the installed patch, but this just an example)

I am in set up wizard for the WGR614v9 router when i get to accou

And to think, you haven't had it long enough to screw it up :-)

I don't know what account name domain name pages are.
Take the unit out of the box, plug it in, connect your computer to one of the 4 LAN ports, and set your computer's IP address to with a subnet mask of The rest doesn't matter.. Now open up IE and type in the address bar.

Mine opens up a pop-up box that says Connect to with the text that the server at WGR 614r7 requires a username and password. Here's where you use admin (always) and password (which you'll get to change).

If the above sequence doesn't work, look at the back of the router where the 5 jacks are. Between the jacks and the antenna, I have 32 holes, 31 of them are square and one is ROUND! There's your reset button. Press and hold it for about 20 seconds.

Now repeat the above steps from the top.
