Question about Sceptre X460bv-f120 46-inch Class Television 120hz Hdtv Lcd And Pc
I have fixed this since I started writing Although Never fixed. Machine was repaired under warranty 2 times... If you replace the power board http://www.shopjimmy.com/sceptre-3bs0231812gp-power-supply-unit.htm They still sell rev1. The smallest transformer in the center of the board was screaming. I isolated it by hearing then I firmly pushed on this transformer to the weight of my push shut it up quiet till released. So I re-soldered all the connectors of this transformer as to remount it to the board. It is quiet now. If you visually look at the transformer. you will see that the transformers are smothered in a yellowish clear rubberized plastic. The plastic on the one I remounted was visually cracked. Another step I've heard is to slather some more epoxy on top of it. Take Care
Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.
It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size.

Testimonial: "We are the technicians. We are here to do the repairs. "Surgery" on Power Supply Capacitors is almost always recommended. Whole board swapping swap can be used to isolate issues. In the field you don't always have full boards. 15w 25w 40w Soldering guns, solder sucker, solder should be in your tool kit.
