Tripod quick mount plates (the part that is secured to the camera) are specific to tripod manufacturer. A tripod without a mating mounting plate is pretty much worthless as there is no way to mount the camera to it.

You will need to contact the manufacturer (or a reputable camera store) and provide the model of your tripod and the size of the threaded mount in you camera - most are either 1/4" or 3/8".

Good luck!

How do I keep the button down when screwing the camera on

I suspect that this is the tiny locating button that sits beside the screw on the tripod.

Check your manual to find out how to remove the quick release sled. There is usually a small lever that needs to be rotated out of position and the sled lifts out.

Once you have the sled out, turn it over and you should see a small flap of metal that can be folded up and this is the means by which you screw the threaded part into your camera. Once it is tight, flip down the metal flap and then refit the sled to the tripod , taking care to rotate the lever again.

Some tripod levers remain locked while the sled is removed and they slip back into place when it is replaced in the tripod head.

Hope this helps.

I have a QS-TM and I want to know if there is an attatchment to let me use this tripod for a canon camera?

Tripod mounts are standard size for most cameras, there are strictly speaking 2 sizes but it is unusual to find a modern camera with the wrong size; it should screw directly into the camera (assuming you have a "standard" mounting plate with the tripod!) If it is too large/small you need an adapter, 3/8" to 1/4" or vice versa, but that would be unusual. Most 35mm camera bodies accept a 1/4" diameter, 20 thread-count screw

I'm trying to attach a Canon EOS Rebel XS to a Manfrotto 190XPROB tripod, but the tripod socket on the camera is too small. How do I attach them?

You need a head. The tripod has a standardized screw for accepting a tripod head, which is a larger screw than for the tripod mount on the camera. There are a variety of heads available, ball heads, three-axis heads, geared heads, pan-and-tilt heads, and more.

Here's a page showing Manfrotto heads:

I bought a used camera tripod that does not fit my camera

Your tripod is a K-Mart brand item and it will fit any camera but it's clearly missing the quick-release foot which most tripods have these days. This part screws to the bottom of the camera and enables the camera to be quickly attached and removed from the tripod.

Unfortunately there is no standard foot shared between manufacturers and most tripod manufacturers don't even have a standard design foot which fits all models in their range.

You can still order a replacement foot from:-

http://tripodquickrelease.com/Focal_Quick_Releases.htm

But at US$18.99 it may be cheaper to buy a new tripod!

I hope that you appreciate the time which I've taken to research and answer your question and ask only that you return the favour by rating my answer.
