I have a 4k aquos 55 tv and since I've owned it I've been putting batteries in it for a year straight they will last 1 day then I replace the batteries I could never sit on my couch the remote wont go that...

This is not an isolated problem with your TV. A similar issues has affected different brands and models as well and appears to be connected to manufacturers' programming firmware updates. Changing the remote may not fix the issue (new remotes can be polarity sensitive and putting batteries in them the wrong way can damage them which is a plausible reason why they'd start eating batteries) If you think it's a jammed button and don't know how to test it, grab your phone and set it to camera, then aim the remote into the camera - if you see a white light without any buttons being pressed it has a jammed button.

My remote control eats batteries

I replaced the battery in a VW key fob with an exact match of the dead battery I found in it. The fob worked again but the new battery lasted only 1 day. I checked the manual and discovered that the wrong battery had been installed by the previous owner and I had repeated that mistake. I installed the correct battery and it has worked fine ever since. I suggest that you double check to be sure you are installing the correct replacement batteries.

We have a Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan in our bedroom. We barely use the remote, mostly when we get ready for bed. The life of the 9 volt battery only lasts about 4 days. What could be the problem.

the remote has a small shorting problem there is really nothing you can do either replace the remote or put up with it but do be aware a short of any kind that draws power out is a patential fire threat ......

My samsung plasma tv keeps turning itself on. we just had a board replaced and are having the same problem. what can we do now?

do you have multiple samsung remotes being used in the house by any chance?

Sometimes this type of problem is caused by the actual buttons used to turn the tv on. Because we tend to eat and drink while pushing buttons on the remote, we tend to get the remote dirty or wet. Blow some compressed air into the buttons of the remote first to see if that solves the problem. If not - then try blowing the compressed air into the buttons on the tv for power, etc.

Also, see if the problem persists after removing the battery from the remote.

Then try resetting your tv by unplugging it for several hours for all power connections.
