It could be a connection problem .
If the fan dosn't opperate the vehicle will run hot especialy at low speeds or in traffic.
Wiggle conections that relate to the fan around with it running watch your hands seeif it spins at all .
The next thing you can do is jump 12 volts off the battery with jumper leads .The vehicle dosn't need to be running just the key on .Unplug the connecter to the motor look for the black wire that will be ground alliagtor clips are helpful clip to corrasponding pin on motor plug then touch the rest of the pins 1 at a time .
If the motor spins its good and the problem is connections relay or switches . but at least you know what you should be looking for

Check the fan belts and washers/spools that hold belt. Had a washer break apart in my old dodge and it stopped the fan dead in its tracks though the belt was still functioning.

The rise in engine temp after replacing the radiator and thermostat could possibly be caused by air pockets trapped in the cooling system. You will need to run the engine with the radiator cap off and let the air escape. DO THIS only when the engine is cold, and let it build up to temp. Coolant will over flow during this process, but eventually coolant will need to be added once the air is released.

If the fan is not cycling when the engine gets hot, you'll have to test the fan motor and the temperature sensor. If the fan is running and it's still hot, the thermostat may be the cause.

Replace the cooling fan clutch. It is the silverish round device that the fan attaches to. This component is heat sensitive and will only function correctly when hot. They are known to fail over time. Also inspect the radiator for good coolant flow. DO THIS when engine is cold only or have a shop check it out for you.

I have a 1999 jeep grand Cherokee larado V6.

The P1391 code indicates that the crank or cam sensor(s) have sent an intermitant code to the ecm. The most common cause for this is loose wiring or debris on the contacts of one of the sensors.

Radiator fan stays on after long hot drive.

Check your relay. I believe one of the terminal connections is an always hot connection. If your relay has gotten stuck in the on position, it will cause your fans to remain on.

Have you tested the fan sending unit on the engine? disconnect that and if the fan runs (Key on) that is most likely the problem.
