I cannot get my primer to pump fuel from tank although I took compressor and blowed back thru fuel line to tank and I heard bubbles in tank.

If you are saying from the primer bulb..Regardless if you hear bubbles or most likely have a cracked in the small line from the push bulb..that line calls for vacuum to pull gas from the tank into the carb..sometimes they get griddle and will develop cracks and lose the ability to pull vacuum...have them changed.should fix the problem not a hard or expensive job good luck..

Engine on 30"Craftsman 2009 snow thrower won't prime. Primer button and connecting tube look good. Primer button won't send gas to the carb.

the priming bubble can look totally perfect, but all it takes is a pin hole and right around the retaining ring is hard to spot a crack and you should also check fuel lines in tank

I need to replace the gas bubble on a McCulloch Power Mac model 600032-54.....32cc i don't want to break the plastic ring around the bottom that holds it.. Thanks

If its a remote primer, it is sold as an assembly and just clips into the tank, if it is on the carb itself it will be retained by the metering cove of the carb held with four screws.

Primer bubble

The primer bubble just pulls fuel from the carb and dumps it back to the tank, to replace it diss connect the two hoses, there are then two small plastic legs on the back, press them both in and the primer will just pop out.

I have a Husqvarna 455 about 2 years old. At about 1 year point it would no longer start using the primer pump button on the side when cold. If I take off the air cleaner and give it a a shot of gas down...

Your seeing the problem. Air in the fuel lines usually caused by a cracked fuel line or a pin hole in the primer bulb. Until you can stop the air bubbles by either replacing the actual primer bulb or fuel lines your always going to have the hard to start problem. This can also cause the engine to run lean at high RPM settings and eventually burn a hole in the piston. You should repair the fuel problem ASAP. If you do not find any fuel line / primer bulb problems then it is time to start looking at the carb diaphram.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,

No gas when you prime it

1) Check fuel lines from tank for cracks, fuel filter in tank, primer bulb for cracks

2)Remove Carburetor
replace gaskets/diaphragms
a) use a spray carb cleaner to clean jets, holes, and body of carb
b) fuel pump diaphragm goes against the carb body,
then the gasket towards the outside
c) metering gasket goes against the carb body,
and the diaphragm goes towards the outside

Primer bubble is cracked.minimal fuel is getting to carburator. when it starts it will run a few seconds then cut off.Won't run except in full choke. Please Help

The primer bulb needs to be replaced. It is introducing air to the system and not allow fuel to flow. Replace it and check the fuel lines while you are at it.

Gas primer bubble cracked. How to find replacement

The part your looking for is called a "primer bulb" and is relatively inexpensive (under $3).

The exact bulb you need depends on the model chainsaw you have. Lacking a model number, I've provided a link to a site where you can verify which model McCulloch chainsaw you have and thus, which primer bulb you need to replace your cracked on with.

Once on the page, you can enter "primer bulb" in the quick search box and it will show all bulbs for all the chainsaw models available. About the 3rd section down will have the McCulloch bulbs listed.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

Carefully unsrew the two screws in the plate holding the primer bulb down and just remove it while holding the rest of the carb down. Take the bulb to a parts/repair shop and buy another bulb for a Zama carb and reinstall.

Jul 29, 2009 | Mantis 7225-00-02 2 Cycle Gas Power...

I just installed a carb kit on my echo srm 230 gas powered trimmer. I was very careful to put it back together the same way I took it apart. My problem is that I can't get the gas bubble to pump any gas...

on my srm-230, there is a screw under the bulb. Panilling9 is incorrect. There is one under the bulb and four on the outside. If yours is like mine, the four screws on the outside hold down a metal plate that in turn hold the bulb against a plastic plate (not sure what this is called). This metal plate has an extension at the bottom to protect the hoses. If this is put on backwards, the protector will be facing the wrong direction and crack the plastic hose connections when tightened (very easy to do without noticing). This would also be assuming that you put the hoses on the carb before you tightened down the metal plate. If this is the case, then air could be leaking in and you can't create a good suction to draw gas into the carb. Of course there are several other things that could be happening here, but just thought I correct the screw under the bulb issue.
