Fix for benq w1000+?

When I turn on the projector, I get a flashing green light for a long time and the fan kicks on, but no picture. It will not turn off with the power button or the remote. Have to unplug. Any ideas on how to address this?

SOURCE: LCD shutting off automatically

Had the same problem with PB2140, during startup the lamp went off and power and lamp leds turned on. This happened after the projector fell down. I read a post there hat mentioned it was probably the power supply so i disassembled the projector. I found out that a small transistor of the power supply was torn away but it was still inside the projector. I found it, put it back and the projector works just fine. Thanks!

Benq w1000 project not turning on

Look at the manual page 34, for the indicator messages. I suspect it's the same problem I have (which I haven't had formally diagnosed yet!), which I believe is a defective fan. My projector had been making a really loud noise on startup, which varied in length and volume. Recently the projector has taken to turning itself off after being on for about a minute, and the power light flashes green, with the temp and lamp lights flashing red.

I want to replace the fan in my w1000 with one that isn't so loud, does anyone know what size it is?

Don't you think the Benq company would have thought of that. The general rule is - a fan that makes less noise pumps out less air !!! In other words the noise is related to the speed (rpm) and blade design.Put the wrong fan and you might damage the projector due to overheating .

My BenQ6100 projector switches off after only a few minutes and flashes red red green, fan 3 error. how do i fix this problem? Thanks Andrew

hi,
There are two fans behind the projector. any one of it have some problem. find out which fan is not working. Remove that fan. Remove the specification sticker on it . you can see its bearing( a small hole). put one drop of any type of lubricating oil in it . Rotate the leafs with your finger for some time. Re-fix the specification sicker . Install the fan back in to the projector and try.
ok

The bulb will not turn on but the power light is shinning blue but the front yellow power light is flashing

still in cooldown mode. if you turned it off or unplugged it before it completed the cooldown process, it'l go back into it for as long as it's timed to. let it run for a few minutes and wait for it to go off. if it still doesn't light, you have a ballast issue.
