SOURCE: Craftsman garden tractor quits when brake released.

Sorry Dunnnutt, but the throttle cable is quite far away from the brake pedal mechanism. Try this Buckijoe: The brake pedal has a switch (look under the tractor) which avoids cranking the engine unless the pedal is fully depressed. A defective switch and related cabling might ground the ignition thus killing the engine when you release the pedal.

SOURCE: john deere 300 garden tractor hydrostatic drive will not work

check two things, make sure the by-pass rod is pushed all the way in and the drive belt from the engine to the rear end (tranaxle). If both check out ok do not attempt to service the tranaxle at home. have thet serviced by a dealer.

Generally around 10 psi. Definately no more than 15 psi. The most important thing is that it is the same pressure in each, or the cut height will be uneven.
