You need to sync the the transmitter with each device.
the transmitter looks like half circle with cable on it and a usb connector, on the transmitter is a button, to sync the devices you will have to push the transmitter button at the same time you push the keyboard or mouse, do 1 item at a time and reboot the system every time, the do the other device the mouse and the transmitter push the button hold down for a few second and reboot system
than after restarting the computer, go to windows, open control panel, look for mouse option check to see if device drivers are up to date, than go into the settings and set the mouse up the way you want, speed of the mouse movement, left and right turns, page up or page down, change the cursor you like thicker pointer, hour glass, pen, what ever you like, how fast the double click is, button configuration in case you are left handed, motion speed, visibility when moving the mouse, wheel control, check the properties section too. than reboot system everything should work well.

STEP 1 Go to the > Start menu and go to the Accessories tab. Under Accessibility you'll find On-Screen Keyboard. Select this option to pull up a keyboard on your screen that you can use to input text until your keyboard is fixed.
STEP 2 Navigate to the Control Panel and then find the Hardware and Sound icon. Double click it, and then select Keyboard from the utility.
STEP 3 Click on the Hardware tab and then double-click on your keyboard in the hardware profile.
STEP 4 Select the Driver tab and then select Update driver. If you are connected to the Internet, a window will pop up initiating the process. If you are not connected, another window will pop up asking you to connect before continuing.
STEP 5 Follow the prompts to install the latest drivers. Then unplug the keyboard, plug it back in, and restart the computer.

The T4010 emachine does not recognize the keyboard, but does recognize the mouse, is the answer a new motherboard?

If replacing the keyboard (try a USB keyboard, instead of a PS/2 keyboard) does not help, and the old keyboard _does_ work when connected to some other computer, then a new motherboard is the next logical step.

New keyboard needs to entered into computer

Hello,

No for sure not.

Standard keyboards don't need drivers or things like that, they are auto recognized by system. Sometimes some fucntions like smart touches or additional keys may not works but keyboard itself must.

Are you sure you put it into correct PS2 port (the purple one, NOT the green one)?

Leave rate if I helped you, thanks!!

Cheers,
Mike

My computer stopped recognizing my wireless keyboard & mouse. Says it's missing a driver or that the device is malfunctioning. Don't think it's a battery prob. Do I need a new driver?...

Uninstall the Keyboard driver.
Unplug the Logitech keyboard.
Restart the computer.
Plug the Logitech keyboard back into the computer.
Windows should recognise the keyboard and/or the mouse.
Place Logitech setup disk in drive.
Reload the drivers...

The drivers sometimes corrupt themselves..
You might download the latest drivers for your keyboard/mouse.

Corrupt keyboard drivers

Generally, if you are using a corded keyboard, it should automatically get recognized and the built in Windows drivers should work.

If you are getting a wireless keyboard, make sure you have the latest driver/software and have that installed.
