This is often caused by sectors on your hard drive going bad which have critical operating system files on them required for the system to boot up. Another cause is your memory might now be bad. Pay close attention to the text on he blue screen, commonly referred to as the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD). My recommendation is to use a utility from Steve Gibson at Gibson Research, it's very inexpensive and if the hard drive is recoverable, his tool will bring it back to life. If his utility finds a bad sector on the drive, it'll move that data to a good sector and render the system usable again. This utility can take several hours but it's worth the wait. You're only other option is to reinstall the operating system using the F3 option, or as a fresh install but please, please make sure you have your data backed up. If you don't know how to do this then I'd recommend taking it to a service professional, or a friend that knows computers. If the data isn't important, or you know it's backed up then go for it. Here's the link to Gibson's site and the tool is called SpinRite: https://www.grc.com/default.htm. I've been using his tools for over 30 years.

SOURCE: My touchpad for the HP

Hello, you may not be double-tapping the proper spot. The touchpad on/off tap zone is on the upper left of the touchpad.

If this doesn't help try re-installing your touchpad driver, use these links:

SOURCE: i forgot my login user

Hi,

This is only possible is you are using Windows XP. If your operating system is windows Xp, follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on your laptop and allow it get to the stage where is will ask for user/log password
  2. Press Ctrl + Alt + Del your keyboard.
  3. A user name and password prompt will pop up.
  4. On the user name type in "administrator
  5. On the password, type in "administrator"
  6. and you windows will open, go to control panel from there to change the password.
That's all. In other words, the user name and password is administrator.

But in the case of windows Vista, you will have to re-run windows operating system, because vista security is very tight and it is difficult to break into its password..

SOURCE: How do I reset the factory settings foe a probook

Many laptop vendors put a special restore partition on the disk. At boot up, you should see a brief black and white message that says hit F? for boot sequence. At that next screen will be an option to restore you computer.
Be aware, you are going to loose anything you have done since you bought the computer, think data, settings, pictures, etc.
Hope this information will help.
Your response is very much appreciated. Thank you for using Fixya...

Instal ATI driver and utility, choose advanced mode in it, choose power, choose switchable graphics method,
i chose manually and not application needs based, Apply & close, on the desktop choose right click and chose configure switchable graphics. Click on high performance GPU (radeon) or Power sawing GPU (Intel HD)

You'll probably have to replace it. There are videos on youtube that can give you instructions on how to replace it, or you can bring it into a qualified computer repair shop and they can replace it for you.

HP ProBook 4530s stuck in hibernation

Go into power options, select hibernate on top, uncheck box on left and press ok or apply. This will disable hibernate mode, not only does use alot of disc space but causes windows to corrupt files and eventually will not start windows, one of microsoft worse idea's.
