The Fuji FinePix F470 camera is an excellent device. Most of the controls are computerised in such a way that makes picture taking and viewing less stressful. Changing from shoot mode to playback mode is by the press of the play button which looks like an arrow the zoom lens is not manually adjustable it adjusts by the press of the W and T buttons. Here is a link to help you download the brochure, User guide and quick start guide for the camera: http://www.fujifilmusa.com/support/ServiceSupportBrowse.do?prodcat=842410&sscucatid=664271&sscucatid=664272 Hope this soultion has been helpful?
You might want to check your manual, as some Fuji camera's hve the ability to "shut off" both LCD displays. I owned a Fuji S5600 in the past and I remember that it has a button on the back for the display modes. Pressing this button multiple times could turn on one of the LCD's. If this does not solve your problem, you have to take it to a specialist.
Are you pertaining to the Focus mode? If so you can unlock it using the Focus mode selector lock switch. Press the Focus mode selector button to change the focus mode.

I would like to know more information regarding this matter.
The mode dial on these cameras break off that often that Fuji in Australia is replacing them at no charge - sort of a recall issue.
Call your Authorised Fuji digital camera repair centre, make sure they will replace it at no charge and then send/take it to them
It works fine for me. Reember it works ONLY in P mode. The problem is due to the Fuji E550 does not provide focus indicator, you have to judge the image to see when the object is in right focus.
you cannot set anything on auto mode! The camera sets itself automatically. try taking shot(AutoMode)in dimlit area or no light at all. If it's taking shots and flash isn't firing, your flash bulb is already busted! I suggest you buy a separate flash unit (they cost the same as replacing parts and service fee), a cheap one is comparable or works the same as the costly one, if you know how to set up on manual mode ( they call it compose or advance or creative mode!)
