a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

ok, if you have forgotten it or it was set by someone else and you are referring to the BIOS password you can try to reset it by removing the battery, unplug from power and either 1) hold the power button down for 60 seconds or 2) if there is a reset button on the bottom of the laptop you can depress that for 15 seconds to reset it. If you are talking about administrator password for Windows you have a bigger problem. There are several programs that can get that for you but you will need to download one from the internet. You need to be very careful if this is the path you choose as it is very difficult to identify sites that are passing virus stuff out and that type of software is plagued with virus files.

If it is a BIOS password than unfortunately there is not much you can do.
BIOS information is stored on a flash memory chip built into the motherboard so there is not battery you can simply remove to reset the password.
if you are talking about the Administrator password for Windows than use these instructions:
Petter Nordahl-Hagen has written a Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista offline password editor: home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/

I would suggest to contact Dell (1-800-456-3355 ) - upon proof of ownership you will be assisted in removing the password.
If you are not the original owner, look for the Service Tag AND the Express Service Code. Both are on the white label underneath the laptop.
Hope this helps.
