Hi, it's Jim from Crucial Vacuum,

Chances are your hose is either blocked, or there is a tear in the hose. In both cases you'll be lacking in suction. Usually after regular usage the hose will tear. It may be a really small and hard to find one. Try gently stretching your hose out to find the source of the problem.

If it's a clog, stretch your hose out as well and use a broom handle to try and push any hard to reach debris out.

Ultimately your best bet is to replace your hose. This will ensure optimal performance and better suction for your Dyson DC07.

My bissell power force bagless model 6594-w vaccuum is not sucking up when vaccuuming but if i use the hose it works

Remove the bottom plate that covers the brush assembly and check the air passage that goes out where the vacuum is jointed between the vertical parts and the sweeper head. Look for any clog in that area. A bent hook on the end of a piece of coat hanger wire is a good tool for cleaning clogs. Hope this helps!

The brushes wont turn, but it has good suction for the hose

you have to remove the bottom cover to inspect the belt. Usually if the brush is jammed, you will smell an odor similar to burning rubber. In the absence of that smell, its likely the belt. Its easy to replace

My dc14 animal works fine in Vaccuum mode but when I switch to the extendable tool the sound of the vaccuum changes to a higher pitch noise and I get very little suction through the hose. Any suggestion

Your hose has a restriction. To fix this, use a broom handle and insert it into the hose as far as it will go. If the hose can be removed, take it off completely and do this, if not be careful so as to not damage the sweeper with the handle. another way to fix this is to blow compressed air through it (this is good to do to all vacs to keep them working good) You can get the compressed air from an air compresser or a shop vac or even a leaf blower, but that will take two people. Once you clear the blockage the sweeper will work fine again. best wishes!

DC 17 Animal No suction on hand held hose

There is likely a blockage in the pipe. Try pushing something through taking care not to perforate the pipe.

Vaccuum will not pick up very much off of the floor

You have a clog in the hose or port going from the brush's to the dirt container. You can blow these out with a compressor. Note: You must seal the end (can use your hand wrapped around it) that you put the compressor hase in. You can also use a more powerfull vacuum that has a exaust on it to do the job.

No Suction

Your Power head is blocked with hair or dirt,,or the hose which connects the Upright with the power head is blocked.
Try taking a steel coat hanger apart (straighten it out) and then push it into the pickup hose to remove blockage.

Dyson DC14 won't **** from hose but works fine otherwise

There is probably a clog in the U-bend on the back of the unit at the bottom. Removed with a twist of a plastic screw by a coin or screw driver. If not in the U-bend check in the hose/wand.

Accessory hose not sucking

Try taking the hose off, and making sure it is not stopped up, either in the hose, or where it attaches. Straighten a wire coat hanger and run down the hose to check for obstructions.

Hope this helps!!!

Dirt devil mvp not sucking

Could be bad filters, is there suction at the end of the hose. That will tell you which direction to start looking. If no suction at hose end, then filters could be the problem. If you have suction, then the problem is down lower, dirt inlet is clogged, if belt has never been changed, then I am sure it has stretch to the point that under load it doesn't turn like it should. Could even be that although the motor is running, it may be running at a slower speed, in which case it would have to be replaced.

Suction

Opening that door and attaching the hose will let the suction go thru that hose. So if when you removed the hose, if that door isn't closed tight will cause you to have a suction problem It has to seal and have no leaks. The other thing when be a problem with the recovery tank not sealing when you put it back on. Other then that, any air leak will cause a suction problem.
