Question about Dell Computers & Internet

Unplug power. Take out battery. Let sit for 10-15 mins. Reinstall battery and reconnect power. Turn on and cross your fingers.
Do you get any lights at all? Is there a light on the power adapter? Has it been cleaned (dusted) in the last 6 months?

have you checked all connections to the battery, make sure the battery terminals are free of cerrosion(rust&mold) make sure alll the power cables are intact. it does not sound like the power supply due to the fact that the light is coming on for a min or so.

Could be a failed battery, do you know anyone else with the same model who would kindly let you try your batery in their machine and theirs in yours?

If at all possible, a whole new fresh start means, "Reformat".
Backup if at all possible and then go ahead & follow the steps to Reformat.
Note:.... Reformat will erase everything and you will have a laptop, like when you first bought it.
