Ussually the cutting out is a result of a fuel problem or an inigtion component which is over heating. If you pull the spark plug out and there is still a spark then the fuel is getting blocked.

My mower stopped cutting and i have a blinking H on the left side of my dash display screen..what does this mean?

It usually means the its time for the mower to be serviced. The hour meter keeps track of the hours it has been running and will cut off at the pre-set time.

CTH 171 Mower starts and runs fine but lacks power to climb even gentle slopes whether or not it is cutting.

The mover has great vibration as all mowers do. That is why the valves are recommended to be regapped at every 250 hours of running time. If not checked the engine will run although will be reduced in power going up a grade. Eventually it will not start so easily if not serviced soon

What does the hour meter on my mower actually tell me? It is flashing between hours of usage and chg oil. I changed oil and filter about four running hours ago. I cut grass for a few hours and then...

Hi, the meter flashes oil change when they are due(at pre-programed intervals) and will stop flashing two running hours after flashing starts. The hours that are showing are total running hours from new. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

Have to choke it to run. after about 1 hour wont run

Remove and clean the carburetor. The high speed jet is most likely colgged and is causing the condition. I assume the fuel filter (if equiped) has been replaced. I'm also not sure of the age of this mower, but this would be a place to start. Spark plug has been replaced? Just a thought.

Have gas in oil - will not start

Gas in oil is usually a symptom of flooding, caused by a stuck needle valve or damaged float in the carburetor. But 65 hours is awfully "young" for this problem.
