SOURCE: portable dvd player will play music cds but not video dvds

Chances are, your DVD player uses one laser to read CDs, and a different laser to read DVDs (since Cds and DVDs are read at different wavelenghts of light). If the DVDs you're trying to watch work properly in other DVD players, it probably means that the DVD laser is dirty, damaged, or burned out. Though you can try cleaning the laser (use Google for suggestions on how to do this, or check the Audiovox website), you will most likely have to get the DVD player repaired, or buy a replacement. Many of the newer CD/DVD players sold today use a single combination laser, which reads both CDs and DVDs, which means that when the laser fails, it will not work at all. Wish I had better news for you, but I guess that the only consolation you have is that your Audivox player still works with CDs...

SOURCE: wont play saying unknown disk

If the region setting is correct and won't even read a cleaning disc, there's not much you can do. Either the DVD drive or the Main board (aka MPEG board) is faulty and will have to get it repaired. I'm not sure about UK, but in Australia, Bush manufacturing warranty period for DVD players is 12 months.

SOURCE: Daewoo DVRS05 Recorded DVD won't play in OTHER DVD players

my suggestion from reading other forums is that these players sometimes have problems finalizing the disc.. you could try making a copy of the disc in a computer to see if this fixes the promlem or maybe media these use dvd+r and has a lot of compatibility issues with dvd players.

How do I get a DVD to eject from a 2005 Buick terazza?

I recently had a problem similar to this. My CD player elevator jammed and wouldn't play or eject. My car was hit in the rear at about 40 mph. It unjammed the elevator..... it totaled the car also. I DON'T recommend having your vehicle totaled but perhaps a hefty whack with a rubber mallet might unjam it.

Fuse burnt out in cigarette lighter when hubby plugged auto air compressor, can't find it, 2005 Chevy Uplander

Use the image below to see the schematic for the circuit. The fuse is in the fuse block under the hood. It is Fuse 23 - a 25 amp fuse.

DVD 1080p stopped playing suddenly. No powering on after that

Dear Friend,
Resolve your problem following the steps:
  1. Check mains connection and supply available by connecting some other electrical gadget.
  2. If power is there from mains socket disconnect your DVD player from mains, open top cover and check mains fuse. See if something is burnt. If you find fuse open and some part (VDR) is burnt, there is a high voltage problem. Replace all parts including fuse. Your DVD will start working.
  3. If you find no burnig part or smell, simply check fuse, if it is open, replace.
  4. If you find no open fuse and still DVD is not coming ON, take it to repair center.
Hope this will resolve your problem.

DVD will not eject from movie player.

On some DVD player there is a little pinhole next to the opening or tray in case the disk or tray won't eject. You can unbend a paper clip and insert it into hole and see if it will eject. If not you will need to remove radio and have it serviced.

Your vehicle is not that old, take it to the dealer and see if your radio is still covered under warranty.

Good Luck!
