Question about Alpine MRV-1507 Car Audio Amplifier

Alpine MRV-1507 Running 2 Alpine Type R 1242D

I have the 1507 running 2 alpine type r 1242d (4 ohms). The amp is bridges

mono and the 2 of my type r are also bridge. the problem is that when it's

low in volume it seems to be fine. But when i turn up the volume, the

protection light start to flash red and if turn louder, the 4 gauge wire with the

fuse breaker will burn. So I can't figure out why is it burning the fuse.

Every power wire and ground are good and I'm thinking that it has

something to do with not having enough power to run the amp and sub. So

i'm really appreciate if any one can help me out or give me some of advice

to set up my system to it's top performance. Thank You

    when i power up mrv 1507 red lihgt is flashing dont know whats wrong its not connected to any subs

Im looking at purchasing one of these amps ( mrv-1507 ) and i have a rockford fosgate T1 15" it has dual 4ohm coils, would this amp be suited? if so how would u reccomend i wire it?

If you are not using a capacitor at this point, i would recommend getting a 1 or 1.5 farad cap and adding it to the system to take some of the strain off of your electrical system.

next on the agenda is your speaker wiring, the mrv-1507 runs around 900 watts at 4 ohms bridged.. your speakers (I believe) have dual voice coils, so 4 connections total, if you are running 2 of the speakers this will be 8 connections total, in order to match the impedance of the amp you will have to wire the speakers in series/parallel. if you have never done this before, it is easy and will ensure you are running the set at 4 ohms (which will make a huge difference in and of itself).

take both speakers out, you are going to want to wire the positive from one coil to the negative of the other on the same speaker. do this to both of them, this should leave you with one positive and one negative unused on each speaker. now you want to hook both of your free negatives together and run it to the negative on your amp, then repeat the process with the positives.

this is going parallel (4 ohm / 2 coils = 2ohm) and series (2ohm x 2 bridged coils = 4ohm).

now your rms on the speakers is 500 watts each, so matching them to a 900 watt or so amp should work great.

when you are installing the wire, make sure the gauge is correct for the length of run and for the wattage, also connect your power directly to the battery or to a distribution block that is capable of handling the power. in all of my installations i run 0 gauge wire from the battery to a distributor block i mount on the firewall, then i run anywhere from 2 to 6 gauge wire to the amp depending on the wattage and run length.

for your purposes, if the length of wire from the battery to the amplifier is 13 feet or less, 4 gauge wire should be fine, if it is between 13 and 20 feet, i would consider buying 2 gauge wire for the install.

you didn't mention what size your fuse is, but i am going to assume it is 90-100 amp, for a 1000 watt amp i use a 150 amp fuse. if you can find a 130 amp fuse it should work fine.

a major thing to remember when installing an amplifier is that your vehicle's charging system was never meant to accommodate large loads for an extended period of time. connecting direct to the battery, using a stiffening capacitor, and properly matching impedance will go a long way towards helping to overcome the limitations. in the future, if you decide to go all out on this project, i would recommend getting a high output alternator, a battery isolator, and a deep cycle battery for the audio equipment. this will insure that you never kill your primary battery, and that you won't run into issues down the road with your vehicle electronics.

you can connect speakers up any way around ,if its one speaker with 4 connections then these extra 2 terminals are often for a continue through to the next speaker along the line ,.just use a small 9v battery and then connect to two terminals to find a bleep as you touch two of the terminals then you know where to put your wires

If they are single voice coil, just hook one up to the amp (bridged) like normal and run a jumper wire from the positive of the sub to the positive of the second one, then do the same for the negative....This will give you a lower ohmage, thus better bass!!!

2 ohm speakers wont work on a lanzar max pro 4000 watt

The 2 ohm stable rating on the amp is PER channel meaning that you could effectively hook up a 2 ohm speaker or a 2 ohm load to each channel without the amp getting f"d up-butin bridged mode it will only be 4 ohm stable. to achieve a 4 ohm load with your sub the type x wire the coils in series that will get you at 4 ohms to run in bridged mono .But you will get the exact same amount of power if you wire each coil to one channel of the amp as bridged mono sees the sum of your 2 ohm channels combined-Hope that helps.

Installing two amps

No, thats what you don't what to do. Even if you have 2 matching amps you don't do that. Every amp puts out different, and for 2 subs, you want to play at the the same time. If your only running 2 10's, I personal would just run the alpine (it's a mono amp made especially for subs) thats plenty for what you have. make sure you bridge them to get the full response. And your other amp i would use for your highs or mids, but run it @ stereo , which is 300 w @ 4 ohms. (Note: 600w @ 2ohms would be bridged and would play in Mono)

Building Competition stereo's is a big hobby of mine.

How to wire 2 ohm 2 12ich alpine type r's to box terminals?

Dual 4 ohm subwoofers can only be wired @ 1 ohm, 4 ohm or 8 ohm.
2 ohm mono load is not possible.
You will need to use (1) subwoofer to get the 1000W out of the amp.
Wire both positives on one sub to + on amplifier and both - on the same sub to - on amplifier to give the amplifier a 2 Ohm load.
Add a second amplifier, or buy an amplifier that is 1 ohm mono stable.
You can wire both to the amplifier at 4 ohms 600W, but they will share the power and only see 300W ea.

MRV - 1507 Question ...

The MRV-1507 is a two channel amplifier, below I've pasted important info from the manual:

Battery Lead (Sold Separately)
Be sure to add a 80 amp fuse as close as possible
to the battery’s positive (+) terminal. This fuse will
protect your vehicle’s electrical system in case of a
short circuit. If you need to extend this lead, the wire
gauge should be AWG8 or larger.
MRV-1507 ... 80A amp fuse

Power Output: RMS Continuous Power (at 12.0V, 20 Hz to 20
Per channel into 4 ohms ......................... 150W, 0.08% THD
Per channel into 2 ohms .......................... 300W, 0.3% THD
Bridged into 4 ohms ................................ 600W, 0.3% THD

Help on 1 amp and 1 alpine srw-124d

You have dual 4-ohm coils. 2 coils per speaker.using one speaker, if you take and run the postive from one coil and connect it to the negative of the other coil, then take a wire from your bridge channel on your amp and connect the positive to the the remaining positive on the one coil and connect the negative to the remaining negative on the other coil you will create a 8ohm load on the amp in bridged mode.

now this is the important part. The bigger the load on the amp the greater the wattage output to the speakers. This sucks the wattage out of the amp. Careful not to overload you amp. The setup above is safe for any amp. The following is for 2ohm stable amps only. The lower the ohm value 2, 4, 8 and so on, the greater the load on the amp.

connect the positive of one coil to the positive of the other. connect the negative of one coil to the other negative of the other coil. then take a wire from your bridge channel on your amp and connect the positive to the the positive on one coil and connect the negative to the negative on the same coil and you will create a 2ohm load on the amp in bridged mode.

Series = add the two ohm value
parallel= halve the ohm value

you can play with series and parallel together using more than one speaker setup.

Wiring my subs to my alpine mrv-1000

did you read your instruction manual. does it says "it could be bridged to other amp"?. you can't make a bridge to amplifier that is not bridgeable. bridging an amp is a way which it is made through transistor type ampilfier by bridging more transistor inside and more voltage is required for bridging.
I don't know if we could do to an IC type amplifier. ask an experts about bridging IC types how to bridge maybe they know how.
and if you had an successful bridging, you may have a problem through your speakers, they may hit hard but you will experience some errors through your speakers and easy to worn.
