SOURCE: We just purchased a Husky

The red and black are the hot legs of the connection. the white is the neutral, and the green is the ground. the ground and the neutral in your cae can be pigtailed. you will need to know what the starting and run amperage is in order to determine the wire size. My guess would be a 12-3 with ground would be adequate with a 25 amp breaker.

Fix or Replace an old Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor model MT30002

Usually, hot air indicates leaking valves or gasket within the pump or overworking (duty cycle). Most likely parts are not available but would be interesting to open the pump and examine parts. May just need cleaning/removing or carbon deposits, cracked reed valve or worn seat. Easy to repair. Remove the head very carefully marking all parts for easy re-install. Make gaskets using auto style gasket material of same thickness. Make any broken reed valves out of feeler gauge material of similar thickness. Any compressor can be made to work tankless but why not have a tank to store a bit of extra air and allow the air to cool a bit and drop out the water into the tank rather than just push it straight thru to the sprayer. Tankless compressor are mostly used for sprayguns or other tools that allow the air to pass thru so that the compressor will not load and heat up. That could be one reason that your compessor is getting hot. You spraygun should be allowing the extra air to pass thru and not load the compressor. Try adjusting the pressure setting on the compressor to the lowest setting allowing most of the air to bypass, then slowly turn up the pressure till spray gun just works as needed. If you are allowing the compressor to work at full pressure and only using say 25psi to paint, you are wasteing energy because the compressor cannot rest. On a tank type compressor, the compressor will rest when shut off pressure is reached. You can paint with tank or tankless, should be no difference, depends more on the spraygun. Good luck

HAS POWER , BUT SEEMS TO BE LOCKED UP. The sound that it makes is a hum and no air in or out

The electric motor may have seized up from moisture or contamination. Make sure all air has been released by opening a valve or fitting.Disconnect the compressor from its power source, (Tape the power cord plug to compressor handle for extra safety) Remove motor cover, try to rotate the motor with a screw driver using just a little pressure. If the motor has brushes, make sure they are in contact and do not need replacement. Check to see if the motor has lubrication points. If so us a little WD40 or other oil based product.Place cover back on motor. Plug unit in to power source. If the unit still 'hums' turn switch off. I believe this compressor is oil less.If so the motor and compressor may be connected as a unit.If the compressor itself is froze up you may be able to separate the two and try freeing any frozen parts, again making sure the unit is disconnected. If the compressor does not respond to the suggestions given consider replacement if out of warranty.Good luck!

I am missing half the electrical cord on my LA-2921 6 gal compressor. How do I replace the power cord to the 3 exposed wires?

Pig tails are available thru Lowes in various wire gauges and lengths. Remove cover to pressure switch and notice wiring and replace with new cord (9 to 12 feet will work great). If your pressure switch is inside the cover and you do not want to bother with complicated procedure; just install a male plug on short remaining cord and just buy a 12 foot 14 guage cord. The fridge stopped working. what to do. its three years old

It could be due to following reasons 1 There is no power supply. Check the power cord and the plugs. Ensure that there is bend/breakage in the power cord. Ensure that the plugs are connected properly with the cord. If the lamp inside the fridge is lighting that means the power supply is OK. 2 The compressor has stopped functioning or burnt due to overload. 3 The gas has leaked out. You must have noticed less cooling over the months. 4 Check the thermostat switch.
For 2 & 3 you will have to call a technician. I hope you have been carrying out the servicing once a year.

Builds pressure, will not cycle back on and leaks fluid

Your compressor is most likely made by Campbell Hausfeld. The oily substance could be leaking from the capacitor on the motor. Remove the cover and examine the capacitor for failure. There is a value printed on the cap. (uf) The cap must measure to within 95% of printed value. A failing capacitor will cause the hum that you are experiencing.

Type of oil

Air compressor pumps can use different grades of oil depending on weather conditions and usage, however do not use engine oil. Some Ingersol Rand pumps use a synthetic oil available through WWGrainger on the web. (generally not model specific) If this pump is lightly used you can use the less expensive compressor oil sold at Lowes lumber made by Campbel Hausfeld. It sells for less than $3.00 a bottle. Generally speaking, under normal weather conditions and light duty use, do not worry about the weight of the oil; just make sure that it stays clean and at the right level. If your compressor is running hot, it may be due to other problems like the check valve, head gaskets leaking between cylinders or chambers or high usage. If, however you just want the best oil for your compressor, use the synthetic. It is usually colored blue or green. This oil is special formulation to prevent breakdown in high heat and will not allow carbon for form on parts or inside of the hoses. enjoy
