Washer fills with water then drains:

The critical question is. Is the water is just running down the drain but the pump isn't running. If it is being pumped out, and you can hear the pump running just the same as when it's emptying prior to spin then it could be aborting the wash because it is, or it thinks it's overheating. ( due to defective water temperature switch)

If the pump is failing to shut off then there is something wrong with the electronics. If your washer is a mechanical timer controlled device then you may have a sticking switch (which may explain if switching cycles does something for you). But if you have an electronic timer then you may be experiencing a board failure, where a cycle is being commanded when it is not intended to by design.

If water isn't being pumped out, but just draining away all the time, the washer will keep detecting there isn't enough water inside and top up with more.
Modern washing machines should be sophisticated enough to realize something's wrong and abort with an error, but if not, it may continue washing or rinsing for a short while before losing enough water to trigger more coming in again. It can get stuck on this cycle indefinitely and it's called siphoning.
Siphoning occurs when the end of the drain hose is lower than the level of the water inside the washing machine.
Try raising the hose and see what happens.
Also the drain hose should have some type of air gap where it fits into the stand pipe. It should not have an air tight fit.

Again Either it's siphoning down the drain due to an issue with the plumbing, it's overfilling, or also if it ( THE WATER) overheats then in some machines the software will employ a fill and drain tactic to cool down the water. The important thing is to work out which of these different faults is causing the problem by careful observation.

Other switch's to check would be the water inlet valve and the water pressure switch with a multi meter for continuity or OHMS.

Saniflo pump motor turns off and then back on continuously

IF this is installed in a sump, the back flow valve is not working or was not installed, The pump is pushing water up and there is nothing to hold it up. The pump stops and water comes back down and it starts over again.

My gould well water pump would not stop so is bought a new pressure switch which i installed and same thing. can you help me please

Sounds like the foot valve may be loosing it's prime. I would let it pump for a few minutes and then shut it off. Then after a few minutes disconnect the line going into the well. If the line has water in it and the water level is going down, you have either a bad foot valve or a leak in the lines going down into the well. It could be as simple as a loose connection. Hope this helps. I use to sale well pumps and have seen this many times. If you let the problem continue and the pump continues running it will throw the overload or will burn the pump motor up.

It sounds to me like you have a defective thermal switch that is shutting power off as if motor is overheating.Unless you are exceding the head or flow ratings on the pump I would recommend you return it for replacement.Thank you.

Our drain pump was squealing so when the washer stopped mid-cycle

you will need to make sure that the plug is in the pump properly as if it is not the machine will not turn on, also the pump has a thermal over temp inside it so you need to make sure that it has not popped (it is self resetting unless it is faulty), so check the pump for continuity it should be about 32ohms. Also check the pump housing to make sure there is nothing in there restricting water flow

Fuel pump not coming on when the key is turned new pump was installed

The pump switches on short time when you switch on the ignition. The purpose of this to make sure before start up, the fuel system is primed, then it shut off until the ECU is in complete operating mode. This also ensures seals have a longer life from continues pressure build up.

To check the fuel pump manually, you need to locate the fuel pump relay in the breaker box. With a jumper wire inserted to the (+) load side and manually switch it to turn on. This procedure is also necessary when testing fuel system operation requiring for constant flow of fuel.
