Do you get pressure without the hose attached ???
yes ???
bad wand
no ???
stop wasting your time as the pump is most likely bad. Ebay a new one
oh, greasing internal parts can cause them to hang up. 3and1 oil is a better choice, and pump saver should be used when pump is being stored

Testimonial: "nope no pressure with hose attached, or not attached. can pump go bad from just sitting?"

Yes it can go bad from just sitting. Corrosion is a bad thing. We can't see if the valves are sticking so it's hard to tell what is actually going wrong unless you're well versed in this type of repair. Also, use the comment tab next time. Save the testimonial for a job well done :-)

Second on that. As even a single check valve failure will end up with no presure. I have seen the plastic check valve cages to simply split from age.

There are intake and exhaust valves that can stick. You can get rebuild kits for them. Improper storage can cause failure.

Engine runs, but stopped pushing water

First I would start with the simple solutions.1. Check to see if your water pressure is good. 2. Check the pressure hose and tip for ubstructions. 3. Check the inet strainer and make sure you have no leaks. 4. Check the unloader valve which is located usually in the area of the pipe for your pressure hose connection. Remove and clean valve and port the valve sits in and lube with white lithium grease light coating. Try machine, if this doesn't work remove pump and inspect all the check valves and pump body for build up of gunk. If you find this you can clean with carburetor cleaner or you may have to purchase a rebuild kit. If you have problems finding the unloader valve go to jackssmallenginerepair.com and do a parts look up and you will see where this valve is. You can also purchase the rebuild kit on this site. Hope this helps.

you must have wired the new pressure switch incorrectly .when the pressure switch opens it will release the head pressure so your compressor must be running with the pressure switch contacts open should be 4 connections 2 marked motor which is from your compressor and 2 marked line which is your power coming in

Lost pressure let handle go spits out 1 second of pressure then no pressure

What you are describing is an unloader valve failure. The unloader valve (also called a spill valve or safety pressure relief valve) is sticking in what is known as bypass. Your pump is able to build pressure but when the trigger is squeezed, rather than directing the flow up to the nozzle it is looping the pressure back through the pump as it does when you release the trigger. Depending on the specific brand and model you will need to either replace the unloader or lubricate it if it is a Karcher with a spill valve. If it is a Karcher there is a known issue with the following models:

K2300G1
K2400HB
K2400HH
K2401HH
K5800G
K5800G

All of these have an issue where the spill valve sticks and will need to be lubricated with Vaseline or lithium grease. You can view a guide for this process at http://www.landanorthwest.com/dms. Select Maintenance/Karcher/Pressure Washers/All/Spill valve lubrication.

If you have pulsating usually you have at least one of the six check valves stuck open, so you're only running on two cylinders. You might have got some of your plumbers " grease" in the check valve. (Do you mean pipe dope?) three of the check valves shold be accessable from the outside of your pump but the other three are inside. You can get parts for your unit from www.pressure-washer-parts.com

NO PRessure

Hi It sounds to me like your unloader valve is stuck, this is the thing that is meant to move up and down when pressing the trigger. Please remove the unloader valve assembly and check for damage. If no damage is found then grease and lubricate this part and replace and this should work ok again.

Once the trigger is released it won't starting spraying again.

I have the same problem. This is the responce for Karcher......

The unloader valve may be sticking, or is dirty. It probably needs to be cleaned and may need to be replaced, it is inexpensive. It gets a lot of use, but extends the life of the pump. The function of the unloader is to allow the machine to run in a bypass mode while the trigger of the gun is closed. First, a lack of high pressure can be caused by: 1. Insufficient water feeding to the unit, so check that the water is turned on all the way and that there are no kinks in the hose. 2. The inlet filter may be clogged. (it will need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned). 3. An internal water leak. 4.Also, low pressure can be caused by worn spray tips. If you have checked the first three with no resolution, the problem is internal and could be as simple as a sticking unloader valve. If you are mechanically inclined, you can clean this valve yourself and greasing the o-rings (use lithium based grease), or take it to a local service center. You do not need to take the pump apar
t. The unloader valve is located under the cover, and is secured with 2 bolts. (Use needle nose pliers to remove the valve) For those units with pressure and volume controls, the unloader is located under the pressure and volume control knobs themselves. Do not take any other bolts off or you will open the pump and lose the pump's oil.

Note: Lithium based grease will prevent future failure of the unloader valve.

Also, check websites such as fixya.com for tips and how-to info particularly on cleaning the unloader valve. Be sure to use lithium grease if you reassemble it.
I am going to check the manuel to see where it's at

Clean and unloader valve on Karcher hd3500 pressure washer -intermittent pressure on and off. Cleaned inlet screen. Think unloader valve is is under pressure knob? Will cleaning help?

Hi:
Cleaning it is not enough. You need to make sure the o-rings are in good shape and grease it with a very very good waterproof grease. Here is a schematic of the pump. The unloader is parts 7 to 13 on D-2
