Question about Yamaha Rx-v465/rxv465 Home Theater Receiver
If it is not working even without any cables attached, you can check the connectors (especially the speaker ones) for little pieces of cable strands which might short-circuit the connectors.
If nothing like that is found, the short-circuit is inside the receiver and you should contact service center for repair.

This is a common problem, one of the capacitors is faulty on the power board and needs replacing. Worth taking to a shop and have done, parts are around £1 and takes about an hour to do (removing the case, pcb, solder new part and re assemble)
