You really need to figure what the problem is .
If the cord plugs into the knife at the back it could be a problem with that correction if it dosn't feel lose and seams to plug in good .You may be able to clean it rubbing alochol is a great cleaner .
On the other hand sometimes the electrical cord can lose contact ware it plugs into the wall or even the wire can brake in witch case the wire can be cut and replaced spliced .
It also could be a problem trigger switch after all it is 45 yrs young .You love the thing and have cut many fine dinners with it Im' sure .
But parts for it .If the company is still in business dosn't want to stock parts for this they want to sell you a new one.
Hopefuly it can be repaired wish you luck

Where can I find this knife?

These older models are hard to find when you need them. The only place I've found them was on Ebay, and I see there is one currently for sale (new in box). Here is a link if you decide to go that route.

Where do I find the electric carving knife by toastmaster have used for a long time and now can't find anywhere

I've never heard of the "Nil" part, but the best place to find these older model appliances is on Ebay. I typically hate buying on Ebay, but these older model electric knives are no longer made and hard to come by elsewhere.
I found one where the seller has very good feedback ratings, and the price is about $24 total shipped. Here is a link below, if you decide to go that route. Hope this helps.

Can you recommend a good electric knife for turkey carving?

I use the Cuisinart CEK-40 electric knife every year on thanksgiving and christmas for about 10 years now. It's a great knife. Obviously it's lasted a long time and I've never sharpened it once. Here is a youtube review of it. You can see it in action.

How do remove the blades from the Rival 1220 model electric knife

I had the same question and finally figured out the answer. To remove the blades on the Rival Electric Knife 1220, first you must locate the piece I am going to refer to as the COLLAR. The collar is located above the "ON" button - toward the blades - but is not part of the blade. It is in between the main machine and the blades and kind of looks like a collar -it also looks like part of the main unit but when pushed from the top will move. On my 1220 it is the same color as the bottom of the machine. Once you locate this secret piece, the rest is quite simple. First-make sure the unit is unplugged then Just place your thumb on top and push the collar down-towards the sharp edge of the blades-and pull the blades out. To reinsert, line the blades up and snap them back into place.

Kenmore 400 washer, model 110-29422 801: How do I get at the attachments for the electrical power cord - my puppy chewed it in half, and I must replace it. Do I remove the top, or the back, and how,...

Use a putty knife at the base of the control console about 2 inches in from the right and left sides.
Lay the putty knife flat on the top of the washer and push it in under the front corner of the control console to depress the clips on the right and left side.
Then fold the control console panel towards the rear of the washer.
Then you can see the cord and how it attaches.
The cord part number is 285800 and cost about $30.00.

Cushion lid release button sticks and the lid does not close

Over time the heat can causes the plastic parts to swell until the button that releases the lid gets stuck. The button can be easily & carefully pried completely out of the hole with a knife **note the orientation of the button and spring for replacement. Clean the button & hole but expect the button to still stick when re-inserted back into the kettle. Take the button back out and if you take a knife and gently carve/scrape away some of the plastic round the inside of the rim of the 'hole' and around the edge of the plastic button, you can remove enough of the plastic so that the button now moves easily back and forth in the hole releasing the lid. Good luck.

Is there an after market seat that lowers the seat height some? I need something around 27".

the easyest way is to take the seat cover off (staples underneath) shave foam with electric carving knife then staple cover back on. or buy shorter rear shocks.
