Question about PrepStart Air Abrasion System

1 Answer

My prepstart dumps out way too much abrasive and the tips get clogged. The knobs controlling the pressure and flow have no effect.

Is it self contained or do you need a air compressor to run it? if so then perhaps a pre-regulator and a air dryer is needed.

Heater blowing cold air

There are only 2 reasons for a problem like yours. Either the water is not going through the heater core or the ductwork under the dash has a problem. For checking the water flow, warm the truck up and then feel both water hoses connected to the heater core. They should both be hot if the water is flowing. If they are both as warm, then the problem is inside the cabin under the dash. If they are not equally warm, there is a problem with water flow.

Tip- For a time the manual heat control models(Not electronic) used a heater knob which could break on the backside of the knob. When it does this, the heater control shaft will not turn as the knob is just spinning in place. Gently pry the knob off and then twist the control shaft to see if it will now work.

Have a Wagner Paint Crew and it started out fine and then after a half hour or so, it gradually lost pressure to a small stream, I was using new paint and I cleaned the hose, screean, intake valve, and...

hello ald... use a fine piece of wire and clean the opening that the paint comes out through. It has a tendency to fill in as you spray. Joe

Deliming

SUGGESTED CLEANING SCHEDULE

Type of Water Cleaning Frequency

Soft water every 80 brew cycles, Hard water every 40 brew cycles

Your espresso maker may be delimed using one quart of white household vinegar. Clean the water tank first, following steps l-5:

1. Make sure the steam control knob is in the center off position and that the plug is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

2. If the machine is cool and the pressure has been released, remove the pressure cap and pour 10 ounces of undiluted white household vinegar into the water tank.

3. Screw on the pressure cap and allow machine to sit overnight with the vinegar solution in the water tank.

4. Remove pressure cap and discard vinegar through the top opening of the espresso maker.

5. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with tap water, repeating this step twice.

To wash internal parts:

Make sure you clean the inside of the water tank first. Remove the pressure cap and pour 10 ounces of fresh white household vinegar into the water tank. Screw the pressure cap back on top of the water tank. Make sure the cap is on tight. Insert the filter holder into the brew head and place the glass decanter with lid on the drip tray. Plug the machine into the electrical outlet and turn the power switch on. An indicator light on the power switch will tell you the machine is on. Place a cup with cold water under the steam nozzle. When vinegar begins to flow into the decanter, insert the nozzle into the water and open the steam nozzle slowly by turning the steam control knob downward. After a few seconds, close the steam nozzle by turning the knob back up to center. This will clean any residue left in the nozzle from frothing milk. When all the vinegar has been pumped into the decanter and the flow has stopped, turn the power switch to the center off position and allow the machine to cool. Repeat steps 1-7 twice using only tap water to rinse any remaining traces of vinegar out of the machine.

Decanter cleaning

1. Pour warm white vinegar in the decanter and let soak for 20 minutes.

2. Discard the vinegar, Wash and rinse the decanter thoroughly using a

soft cloth. Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners.

How do I adjust the pressure on an old Northstar Pressure washer. Honda 18.0 HP, GX610 V-Twin

The following link will give you great troubleshooting for all pressurewashers. http://www.pressurewasherservice.ca/serv02.htm

There are several way to increase pressure. Primary way is to turn the pressure regulator knob in the direction to increase tension on the spring. Pressure regulator is located on the pump (or very neer) and usually has a large spring. Sometimes the spring is hidden under a twist knob. If the adjuster seems to be already turned to max then you may need to just change the pressure tip. The tip/nozzle is actually where the pressure is created by restricting the flow of water thru a very small opening. Use a new tip of the same gpm flow that is required by your machine. 18 hp machine has potential for very high pressure and high gallons per minute. Use trouble shooting guide above for more information. Good luck

How to remove the Prime/Spray assembly on the Wagner Paint Crew. The Prime/Spray knob is held on by a retaining clip which I can't figure out how to remove without resorting a hammer and pry bar and risk...

You can unscrew it without removing the plastic part - just use thin vice grips and get a piece of the metal nut, unscrew down (counter clockwise) and it should come off with average pressure. I checked mine, not much to go wrong there, then screwed back in. I have similar problem with pressure, it is likely a worn O ring. Seems to be in the outlet valve as I replaced some of the inlet valve rings and same effect. Research says the outlet valve is the problem if paint comes out of the squeezed nozzel while in Prime mode, which mine does, and is likely not building the pressure as some paint is flowing back through the worn outlet parts.

My honda gc 160 pressure washer i have to take the tip off the wand to get it to get to have pressure.

With the tip removed you have pressure? or you have flow. Usually, with no tip you have very little pressure with lotsa flow. Sounds like tip clogged up. Have you tried other tips? If you hold the tip up to the light you should be able to see through the oriface.
