Question about Epson WorkForce WF-3520 All-in-One Inkjet Printer

Open Question

Have paper jam error message but no paper jam. May be an issue with ADF.

A video I watched seems to indicate a spring that needs to be repositioned but the video is dark and not helpful

Hi Betty Zimmermann, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? ADF is the document feeder. Is that where the jam occurs?

SOURCE: Epson AcuLaser CX11N ADF Paper Jam

I had a very similar problem with the ADF, it resulted in ADF paper jam - message and then in Req Code 2011.
I checked sensors and everything else, then called a epson service professional.
After telling him the Req Code, he knew the problem and said that the problem is the board, which needs to be exchanged, mentioning that this spare part is expensive.
I then checked the whole ADF again, now opening the long grey cover on the backside, I disonnected the connector cable from both sides and - using a multimeter - checked this connector cable for breaks.
Result: the violet cable was broken, so I soldered in a new wire, using the last cm of (old) wire on each side - and now the ADF works fine.
This cable is easy to change if you get the spare part, there is a connector plug on each side, on the ADF side is an additional ground wire (green) fixed with a single screw. Thats it !

For the electronic experts: the configuration of the connector:
sourrounding metal cover = ground, thick green Wire on the ADF side
If you turn the plug that way, that the two single contacts are on top, these are the colours:
1st row: brown - black
2nd row: green - yellow - orange - red
3rd row: grey - violet - blue

Hope this helps

SOURCE: ADF Jam... Service req c2011

Hello,

Can be a tough one.

1st - Open the ADF & make sure that the 2 little Sensor tabs move freely.

2nd - Lift the ADF & check that the White Plastic Paper Guide is "down in the slot" & not resting on edge of the white flat bed scan pad or overlapping the scan pad.

For some C Error Codes

Check for electrical interference from external devices.
Disconnect the Printer from all devices, and run a test print..

Here are the "c2011 error" fixes per the manufacturer:

Replace the Automatic Document Feeder.
Replace the Scanner.
Replace the Main Board.
-------------------------------------------------
You might try unplugging the ADF & see if you can operate without it.

If you unplug the scanner, the printer might not function.

ADF error-says to clear paper jam and restart there is no paper jam.

If you are 100% positive there is no left over paper jammed, then most likely your paper feeder needs to be lubricated.

HOW DO YOU REPLACE A BATTERY ON A CASIO 1572 A168

This is how I replaced the battery on my Casio 1572 A168 watch.

1- Undo the 4 screws to remove the back cover. Note the correct orientation for reassembly by observing the writing.
2- Gently pry out the mechanism.
3- Undo the 6 clips round the circumference of the mechanism with a pin or watchmakers screwdriver. The top half should come loose. There is also a 7th clip which can be more easily unclipped from underneath. Replace the battery.
4- Note the correct position of the small spring. This spring is necessary to make the watch speaker work.
5- Note from the picture the correct position of the special contact which connects with the lower board. If this does not connect properly then the display will disappear.

6- With the battery in place, the watch display should work properly. If there is a problem try connecting the two all clear contacts with a screwdriver, paper clip or small piece of wire to reset the watch.

7- Reassemble the watch and make sure the rubber seal is in place. The seal on my watch was slightly deformed so I used a very small amount of silicone sealant on the tip of a screwdriver to tack it down properly.

8- Put on the back cover being careful not to overtighten the 4 screws and damage the threads. The cover needs to be positioned correctly and not 180 degrees in reverse so the spring will connect with the correct place. When you look at the front and back of the watch the writing should be the same way round.
Kind regards
Chris

*Looking at the picture it might also be possible to replace the battery by removing just the one clip that is closer to the spring. However I found that that clip is more easily undone from underneath, so I preferred to do a more complete dismantling. This also gives more freedom to reposition the battery.

Epson Stylus Photo PX800FW paper jam

Got my own PX800FW.

Please note that ADF paper jam online docs of EPSON Aculaser 1100 http://www.epson.co.uk/gb/en/viewcon/corporatesite/products/mainunits/faq/2929/1393#toc6 are craph* more detailed than the PX800FW **** that EPSON is making users put up with.

I am having the very same ADF scanner jam issue (paper stuck directly when trying to feed into the lower rolls).

Initially I suspected the upper paper feed rolls (turning them requires rather strong force), but they were not the actual problem (see below).

If you want to inspect these top rolls, then remove the top flap
(use a screw driver to somewhat (and obviously carefully!) bend the plastic hold located towards the user panel side, then lift off top flap.

I then unscrewed its 4 screws.

To remove the main roller mechanism, you need to pull out (somewhat forcefully, but obviously carefully) the large white extended cog bar. Then push out the somewhat larger wheel bar from its flap-side plastic holder.

Now you\'re able to (while keeping a watch on the small white tab that\'s being drawn back by a spring) remove the entire roller skeleton.

I then proceeded with removing the end cap (fiddling with a screw driver - but watch out for some parts getting lost due to a somewhat strong spring!) and replaced the spring with a weaker one, and adding some washer plates reinforce the slightly weakish spring. I then ended up with a roller mechanism that was almost as strongly pressing the rolls towards paper, yet actually turning them ended up easier on the motor.

I then put everything back together, but an attempt with the newly replaced parts failed, too.

Then I directed my attention towards the main motor / cog mechanism.

I rather instantly had to discover that the main cog at the main ADF motor was broken, and this is very likely to be the reason for the ADF jam issue.
This rather flimsy black cog is made of plastic (and having some nice tiny predetermined breaking point holes to boot!! guess where it did break...) and sitting on a metal drum which seems to be rather strongly attached to the main motor axis, unfortunately.
I will now try to remove the drum, possibly with the help of hopefully successfully warming it via a hair dryer. Choosing to glue the original plastic cog instead doesn\'t sound like such a marvelous proposition...

Given the rather flimsy appearance of the entire printer a future EPSON choice is quite unlikely.

How do i change my watch band on a eco drive i have just run out of ideas!

If your watch strap is held on by standard spring bars, then you need to remove them with a spring bar tool or a micro screwdriver.

Here is a link to short video which describes the watch strap removal and replacement process in excellent detail:

HP 3035 MFP keeps coming up with a "Jam in document feeder " error message. The offending material has been removed from the ADF and yet the error message will not go away. The device has...

The most common cause for this is a jammed paper sensor flag under the top cover of the ADF where the paper is fed. ( small black plastic protrusion )that should should be positioned at the front of its little slot. I think there are 2 sensors so check that they are functioning properly ( that they move from right to left & then spring back )

Brother MFC-8860DN All-In-One Laser Printer showing document jam error

Doc jam error usually means a jam in the adf (auto doc feed) when feeding a fax or doc to copy.

The most common reason brother mfc,s of this configuration have doc feed issues is believe it or not the hinge that operates the lid/adf, specifically the left side one (looking from the front). Inside the hinge there are two springs exerting tremendous force on the hinge (that enables the lid to stay up by itself) however this force eventually slowly breaks the fulcrum point of the hinge which leads to the lid not closing properly which means a sensor under the lid does not activate properly resulting in the adf stopping and resulting in the machine registering a jam. the difference between the sensor activating or not can be as little as a millimeter and is not often disernable. the hinge needs replacing by a techo.

the other reason could be you just have dirty adf feed rollers, clean them with a cotton rag dipped in metho, open the adf lid and give the rollers a scrub. the rollers should have 'tread' on them similar to a tyre, if not they are worn and need replacing.

One other possibility is there may be a paper fragment left over from a jam removal still caught in the paper path and activating a sensor activator that tells the machine paper is coming or going. most commonly in the section where the paper is looping on its return journey back out of the adf, open the adf lid, have a look with a torch and see how you go.

Regards, Andrew.
