My TV will freeze an image in a pinkish color or will turn completely pinkish with no picture at all. In either case the sound is not affected. Turning the TV off and on with the remote has no affect on this problem but if I unplug the TV so it has no AC power and plug it back in the problem corrects itself. This problem seems to start much sooner after beginning to watch than it used to and once the problem begins it happens more frequently to the point where watching any TV is difficult. Do you think this is a problem that can be fixed? Thanks in advance for your opinion!
It sounds as though there is a heat related problem inside your TV.
While this can usually be fixed, I would strongly recommend that you take it to an approved TV repair shop.
The situation will only get worse.
From your description, it sounds like heat is causing the circuit boards inside to expand and a small crack has opened up in a solder joint causing errors to appear.
This crack may not be apparent to someone who is not qualified in electronics repair.
Hello Darren,
It does sound to me that either the T-Con board is becoming bad or the connections going to the LCD panel itself are losing connectivity.
I would try to purchase a new t-Con board from ebay and replace that first!
Good Luck!
