Question about Singer Sewing Machines

2 Answers

Hi, I have a Singer Inspiration Model 4212, the bobbin case keeps popping out of place so when the thread is going around it, it jams and gets cut out so I can't even get to sew an inch.

I have already tried taking it out and cleaning our lints on the inside, put it back in place, but as it starts sewing it pops again out of place. Also something because of it popping out of place the needle hits it and it already chiped the egde of the right case teeth.I have had this sewing machine for 7 years, I use it only every couple of months, but want to start doing more projects with it, has been giving me this problem for 4 years now,but now is more frequent and is just frustating and time consuming, and instead of relaxing while sewing I just get stressed out. Can somebody help me?

When you hold the bobbin case there is a little lever to hold when you push it in. You make feel a sort of click when it seats properly.
Try turning the wheel carefully by hand to different positions as it
may not be sitting in when the book is not in quite the right position.

I'd guess you may need a replacement bobbin case since the original may have a retaining spring broken.

SOURCE: The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210

unscrew the black plate that holds in the bobbin case and move it over to the left just a little bit, but make sure there is still clearance between the lower right corner of the case and the plate. The case should be able to wiggle a little, but not so loose it can pop out..

Bobbin is not inserted to spin the correct direction.
Also, it could be that the bobbin tension isn't correct either.

if the fabric is real light weight you may have to use a stablizer
also check to make sure the needle is the right one for the fabric being sewed..
make sure the bobbin is turned the correct direction, try putting the bobbin in the opposite direction..
if the machine keeps jamming, take it back up where you bought it and show them what it's doing and see if they can help you..

The bobincase springs up giving no stitch in singer inspiration

Try buying a new bobbin case, it probably was damaged by jumping out of position.

My Singer 507 sewing machine keeps on jamming up, the thread gets wound around the bobin and jams. I have thread the machine as in the manual. PLEASE, PLEASE could you help.

If you have the 507 with the grey or black plastic bobbin case you may need to undo the two screws on the right hand side on the silver bit and push it over to the bobbin case so it is tight or enough gap between the bobbin case and the silver bit about a thread width.

Loose Bobbin Case on Singer 4830

Your first step is to go to the Singer site and download your user manual -- it's available free. You need to check to make sure that you are inserting it properly in the first place. Please keep in mind that the bobbin does NOT turn--the thread unwinds from the stationery bobbin.

Next, I would manually sew using the hand wheel and no fabric with the needle plate off and observe what it's doing. You CAN replace the bobbin case if necessary.

The bobbin case on my Singer Inspiration 4210 sewing machine keeps popping up in the back causing my thread to bunch up underneath. What is causing this? Is the bobbin case in wrong? How is it supposed...

From what I gather on other sites, your thread has to be threaded under tension.... You have to make sure you hear a click when your bringing your thread down to the bottom of the "arm". Also, I thought the bobbin case was rather loosely held in its place, I adjusted this by unscrewing the black plate and moving it over just a smidge. The bobbin is supposed to have some wiggle room, but it kept popping up and making the tiny adjustment seems to have done the trick....for now...

Bobbin case is popping out, and machine is birdnesting

Usually when this happens the bobbin is in wrong, replace it make sure the thread is going out the right way, make sure there is no lint or small pieces of thread around or underneath the bobbin area. Make sure you thread it with the foot up. Also make sure you are usng the right bobbin for the machine. They can easy get mxed up.

Upper thread wraps around bobbin mechanism, while sewing

IT PROBABLY IS THREADED INCORRECTLY. GO SLOWLY BY THE DIAPHRAGM AND MAKE SURE IT IS THREADED CORRECTLY. ALSO MAKE SURE SPOOL PIN HOLDERS ARE IN PLACE THAT HELPS TO GUIDE THE THREAD CORRECTLY.
