The oven is getting up to temperature (have put oven thermometer in) but things are not cooking. The thremasats have been replaced , does anyone know what else could be causing this?

If when you select the temp on the control you are getting the red light to indicate the oven should be on the most likely problem will be the element. If it is the bottom oven element this is a crescent shaped element behind the back panel of the oven (panel usually held on by 4-6 Tx20 screws). The element is positioned around the fan blade and in some models (you have not supplied the complete ENr for me to check) there are 5 screws securing it in place. Two each side at the bottom of each end of the element and one top middle, this one may require the fan blade to be removed first to facilitate the removal of the screw and in turn the element (The fan blade is on a reverse thread nut). The electrical connections to the element are on the back of the left side end, so be very gentle when removing it so that the spade connectors do not come off (if they do you will need to get the whole unit out and remove the back panel to reconnect. DO NOT CARRY OUT ANY OF THE ABOVE UNTIL THE ISOLATED FROM MAINS...if in any doubt bite the bullet and arrange for a qualified engineer (such as BSH in the UK). Hope this gives you a starting point, if you require any further info or clarification, please add a comment and I will try to get back to you asap.Let me know how you get on.

Heating element is broken - lower (baking) element. What part do I need and is this user-serviceable?

With the model number you can order a new element from repairclinic.com

You can remove it by pulling the oven out from the wall, unplugging it, removing the rear panel, and then disconnecting the element and swapping it out. Fairly simple for anyone with patience.

Let me know how this works out for you.

Replaced lower element wont heat now

Not familiar with this make,
could be a TOC (thermal over load cut out device) round in shape situated near the element .These can often be faulty as well as the element also check your connections.
