SOURCE: john deere mod 345 no spark

first find the wire that is grounded to mower to ignition
and check that it is isolated if mounted on some plastic and disconnect it
if it runs to start switch check wire for cuts also
most common problem is the coil located under the top plate held on by 4 /5 screws on sides.
remove top and follow plug wire back to coil

you can clean the curved edges of coil that are against motor {magneto} with sand paper and clean mag
remove plug and lay threads securely agains frame and check for spark {hold by wedging not by hand as you can get a jolt!}

SOURCE: INSTALLING THE MOWER DECK ON JOHN DEERE 345

Can't help you completely but I believe the brass colored bar coming from deck towards front should be on top of the black bar that puts the tension on. I had it on the bottom and the both bars ended up under the deck.

SOURCE: My John Deere 345 dies for no apparent reason

You have dirt in the fuel tank and it sucks the dirt up on the filter that is attached to the pump. After the machine stalls, the dirt falls off and it will restart and run for a few min.

What you need are wiring diagrams, not schematics, and you will have to inquire directly to John Deere.

When I turn my john deere sabre off at the key the engine shuts down, however ten seconds later the fuse blows. Also brand new safety switches are killing engine when released. Suggestions?

Somewhere, probably in the ignition switch circuit there is a short circuit - otherwise the fuse would not blow. You'll need to take a test meter to each circuit in turn to isolate the circuit and then find the short. Be logical and patient!

John deere gx 75 losses spark

Loosing spark, and a no start are two different issues! If it's a no start,no voltage to the starter, the it's a bad switch, bad connection or a BAD GROUND ! clean all connections.

There are special wires called fuseable links that protect the major circuits such as the key switch. It sounds like you fried one of them.
The wires are usually connected to the large post on the starter. If you did fry one of them, you'll need to track down the short before you repair the wire, otherwise it will do it again.

John Deere 345 won't shut off

I would start with either replacing the key switch, or tracing the wires to make sure they are not touching together somewhere, completing the ignition circuit.

I have a Gx 345. Had a very similar diagnostic issue. Make sure you have a fresh set of plugs and have checked wires for abrasion. The best way to see, if you have a grounding out issue is to start tractor in the night and look for sparking on each side of engine.

Anyhow, after replacing ignition circuit board, the problem was corrected. Coils fail very rarly, if failed they simply don't work. Typically, an intermittant problem would point to circuitry or grounding issues.
