You are NOT in focus. Put the eyepiece with the largest number written on it into the focuser. Take it outside during the day and practice focusing on a distant object.

Hello, did you remove the lens from its tubes? Also did you remove the lens set rings? If you did, O boy. These lens are set to give a center line focal point in the NV tube. The adjustment on the eye piece is for the focal point on you eye. While adjustment on the large 50mm lens is to adjust the center line focal point. If you removed and of lens rings and took them out. Then the lens need to send a lens Opitic company for reclibration to the correct focal point..

Now send me a diagram on what lens you have and I will see if I can reassembly in the correct manner. stewbison

Is there a high risk of eye infection if I wear contact lenses?

Only if you do not look after your contact lens correctly. This is why you have to ensure that the contact lens is completely sterile before you put it in your eye. Bacteria need 3 things to live; food, water and warmth all provided by your eye if they are in your contact lens! Soft lenses are filled with water so these organisms can therefore survive in them and in your contact lens storage case. If you use your contact lens solutions correctly, and follow the advice of your Contact Lens Optician, there is very little risk of infection. The importance of contact lens hygiene cannot be stressed enough. There are no shortcuts!

I have just unpacked my telescope from storage and found only the stand and the body. Is there a way i can replace the lost eye piece, lenses and instructions?

You can buy eyepieces from several on line retailers. Here are two:

http://www.agenaastro.com/

http://www.optcorp.com/

Eyepieces come in 3 sizes, .965, 1.25, and 2 inch. Measure the hole in the focuser. If you have a .965 opening Telescope Warehouse sells this size:

My 9t eye piece was rattling and mislined. I took it apart cleaned lenses and wondered is there a lense location or direction?

Never disassemble an eyepiece unless you know exactly how to put it back together. Only the outer glass lens ever needs cleaning.

Without knowing exactly what link of eyepiece you have (they are all different designs) it's impossible to tell you which way the internal lenses go.

Your best bet may be to simply purchase another eyepiece.

Hi I have a Tasco 302045 the eye piece lenses are loose I suspect one is missing and or assembled wrong where can I get a diagram of how the lenses are arranged in the correct order. Also where to get...

You will not be able to get parts from Tasco-- however many things can be repaired with parts from a well stocked hardware store.

Rather than trying to fix a broken eyepiece look at this web site from some low cost plossel style eyepieces -- not very expensive. You need a 20mm and a 12 mm.

If you're getting the 18-4489-957-000 error code, then give it a good tap on the corner where the lens cap is. A little tapping and the lens cover should pop closed. When you turn the camera on again it will probably work just fine.

I was just about to junk my camera when I googled the error code and found this very tip in another thread. It worked like a charm.

Nikon D40x AF-S Nikkor 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 GII ED Lense Trouble

I've found the same thing with my D40x and the 18-55mm AF-S lens. I took a really close look at it and found that the mount on the lens is badly worn on all three of the bayonet tangs and one is cracked at the base. What happens in my case is that the lens has movement when mounted on the camera - just enough to stop the contacts from mating properly. Hence, no photos. Am taking it to Nikon to get it fixed. I suggest if this is your problem, that you take it to the repair man.

it looks like when you took this apart you did not alignt the lenses properly, there should be a locating groove or stub which these lenses should fit to... it looks like they are pressing against the stub but are not located properly, hence the distortion. try taking it apart again....when you put it back together again the fault may have gone.
