Check the drain hose at the bottom of the tub, it may have come loose or have a crack in it.

Water leaking from underneath the front of the washer..

It could be a seal on the bottom of the tub or a loose or damaged hose where it pumps out. It could also be a loose hose on the water level switch. Remove the front and run it to check it out.

I believe you need to pry up slightly on the top and reach through the gap with a small screwdriver and press on the clips on either side to release the top and lift the top. Then there are two screws that hold the front to the sides and you should be able to lift the front off. Good luck.

Considering the purchase of Samsung WF338 / DV338 Washer & Dryer

beware of front load washers on second floor! vibration will be more likely to be a problem. because of the floor the only real place a frontload can be at its best is on a floor that has a concrete slab foundation because if the floor can move, flex or creek your washer will vibrate and will shake your house. also beware of putting the cabinets under washer they can cause it to vibrate even on a slab floor because the cabinet will flex and move. Also make sure you check your pockets really well all the time!!!!!!! drain pumps and service calls are expensive it is worth the time. and only HE soap the washer uses 1/3rd the amount of water as a top load so you cannot use the same amount of soap or you will get suds build up in your washer and it will cause it to leak and cause error codes that will cost you a service call. And leave your door open when your not using your washer because It will start to stink even more so if you use the wrong soap.

Whirlpool duet front loader washer/dryer

It is not the dryer causing the problem. We get the brown streaks on our white clothes before putting them in the dryer. I have ruined more white clothes over the past six months with this Duet washing machine!!! We also don't use bleach so I don't think it is the HE/Clorox combo that somebody mentioned earlier. Anybody know what exactly is causing this yet... before I throught the moldy stain causing Whirlpool duet out?

Leaks water

Okay, to check for your source of a leak, start by removing the 2 screws on the lower front panel of the machine. This will let you see inside. As you are running the washer, watch where the water is coming from. If from the front, you may have a hole in your boot (the black rubber up front) If so, you may need to replace the boot (the part comes with step by step instructions). If coming from the middle, your tub seal may be going bad. A quick fix is tighten the 12 or 14 bolts that go all of the way around your tub. This will only be a temporary measure. The tub will have to be taken apart and the seal replaced. (this is a 1 1/2 hour - 2 hour procedure for 2 technicians) If it leaking from the rear, you may have a bad tub bearing. You can remove the back panel to be certain, but usually a bad bearing will be accompanied by a roaring noise durring the spin cycle. As for the dryer leaving brown marks? Usually the front seal has been dammaged. Run your finger around the front of the drum (where it meets the front panel) the gap should be about the same all of the way around. If it is not, you may need a new front seal. (this is much cheaper and less time consuming on the dryer compared to a seal on the washer)

Mildew/Stagnant water smell in washer

you know, this does happen.

run it on a full cycle, warm, with either of these in solution.

baking soda, at 1/10 concentration

non chlorine bleach, at 1/6 concentration

you most likely need to do this more than once, until your nose is happy.

Also, consider doing this at least once every 200 wash cycles.

essential oils have same effect, and do a nice anti microbial as well.

we did this in commercial laundries all the time, as part of standard health code compliance issues.

Water leaking from bottom of washer

you need to fill it up a little then switch it off. tilt it backwards and if it hasnt got a base you should be able to see where the water is coming out of. check the bottom hose and around the element location.
