Re: Stuck on loading your personal settings it is so slow
- Delete Internet Explorer temporary internet files.
- Right Click on Internet Explorer icon.
- Select 'General' tab
- Click Delete Files button
- In the window that opens, choose Delete All Offline Content and click OK.
- When the deletion completes, close Internet Explorer
- Under Task Manager, check if any processes are taking up major CPU usage (try to end the process that is not required)
- Disk Cleanup:
- Right click on your C: Drive
- Choose Properties
- On the page that opens, choose Disk Cleanup in the middle of the page
- When it pops up another page with a list of things that can be deleted, check off all items, then hit OK
Disk Defragmenter: (If the BP does not have Admin rights, launch it through Power Console or Esupport)
NOTE: Defragmenter takes a long time. Please do not stay on the call with BP. Offer a callback.
- Right click on your C: Drive, choose Properties
- Choose the Tools tab at the top
- Choose Disk Defragmenter. BE WARNED THIS MAY TAKE 1-2 HOURS!
- Ensure that your C: Drive is highlighted
- Click on the Defragment button
- When the message stating the defragment function is complete, close all windows and reboot.
- Virtual Memory:
Right click My Computer, click on Properties, click on Advanced, then click Performance Options. By default, windows selects a minimum of one and one-half times your actual physical memory size for a page file (256MB of ram will give you a 384MB minimum page size 256 + 128). Reduce the minimum to your actual physical memory size.
