    Does it start easily?
    Does it run smoothly?
    No backfiring or misses?

Need engine info. The ipl only shows Briggs V-twins and the only Twin cam engine that I am aware of for lawnmowers is the Kohler Courage and that is a single cylinder engine.

Clogged high speed circuits in carburetor. V-twins running one cylinder due poor carburetion, ignition or blown head gasket.

Hi,
There is a pin or a bolt that either broke or came out of the linkage...
Follow the linkage and see if there are two pieces unhooked that seem like they should be together...look also for a place that the paint is worn off but there is no pin or bolt...
Kinda hard to direct you from here but I'm sure that something came apart while you were rolling backwards...

SOURCE: Craftsman 18.5 riding mower when I engage the

craftsman decks have a positive stop adjustment for the decks. A spring atached to the blade ingadgement arm pulls the tension pully into position if the cable is rusted inside the sleeve it wont put enough pull on the ingadgment pully and thus the blades dont spin full force the belts on the mowers have no adjustments only the pully . second thing is you may want to drop the deck and clean around that pully by scraping any rust off the surface under the pullys slide good luck

STARTS UP FINE. AS SOON AS YOU PUT IT INTO GEAR TO GO, IT CONKS OUT?

If it starts ok, the battery should be ok. The battery doesn't drive the mower, the gasoline engine that the starter works to start.
Do you have an owner's manual? see the troubleshooting section.
no manual try http://www.manualslib.com/
My guess is not enough fuel flowing to the engine due to a bad
governor (air blade from the cooling blower, or it's connections maladjusted. Otherwise, engague the clutch slowly. try not to engage blades at the same time.

I hit a brick, lawnmower won't move help

check for bent crankshaft at blade connection point. do this by removing spark plug and turn the mower on its side with carburator side up, now spin blade by hand and see if it will spin without a wobble. if it does not want to move, something else inside the engine is damaged and probably not worth fixing. if the blade does not spin true, it is a bent crank and might be able to be straightened by a mechanically inclined person without further damage to the motor. also check to see if the piston is moving while spinning the blade if it will turn at all. Not enough torque. Only use 1/2 width of deck on tall grass, go real slow, Ensure side discharge is open! Ensure blade is sharp. Replace spark plug once a year and clean replace air filter. check oil level 30woil.

Hydrostatic on husqvarna cth 180 xp losing power

Check the drive belt. This belt runs from the engine to the transaxle. Look for abnormal wear and if the sides of the belt look glazed/shiny. Check the pulley mechanism that tightens the belt for proper operation and belt tension while engaged.
Try reducing the speed selector. This is equivalent to running in a lower gear. Your tractor works hard just to turn the blade. Going uphill requires additional power, so some reduction in speed is to be expected.

I replaced the blades on my Husqvarna Lawn Tractor 48" Deck, 23 Hp, Model# Yth2348 by tipping it on it's side and now the mower looses power when going up the smallest incline? I bled the air out...

Not the float.
Where you mowing when you had the problem or were you just driving the mower? If you were mowing, then disengage blades and see if it returns to full driving power. If you were just driving, then with it sitting, engage the blades and see if problem recurs. The blades are the bigger load on the engine, your mower will drive around with a little 4HP engine, all the extra power is for the blades and if pulling anything.
Let me know what the test results were, so we can figure out if it is in the carburetor or not.

Swisher 44" mower starts and runs but engine bogs

The engine in this machine seems to be powerful. If you can remove the belt from the pulley that drives the blade. Try turning the pulley buy hand. If it turns tight or not at all this is your problem. The unit that is the pulley to blade assembly is seized or ready to seize. Sometimes they are designed to be taken apart and repaired, and sometimes they are not. Did you check for a grease fitting within the pulley to blade unit?
I would like to hear how this works out for you. Best of luck.

I started my craftsman 21hp 42in deck today it had a rough idle with backfire and when engade mower it seemed to not have enough power

Backfiring is a sign of too rich on gas and not enough air. Not enough gas will cause the mower to bog down when blades are engaged as it isn't powerful enough to run the motor AND turn the blades. Check your carb and see if you need to clean it and replace diaphgram. Sounds a lot like a carb problem.
